My experience is that it has alot to do with coaches and their relationship with college coaches. For instance my daughter's team after playing in a national tournament in Maryland and finishing 2nd they were invited on the way back home to florida to spend the day on the Clemson campus with women's soccer team. The travel team she played on was all about player development, cardio training and conditioning they ran all practice. At the end of a game that conditioning is what set them apart. Her coach would also send out letters from college coaches saying that they had watched the past tournament and said that they were very impressed. Trust me the exposure these girls got from playing the best girls from around the country really did help so you believe what you want too but 2 girls to fla.st, 1 to vandy, 1 to south Carolina, the other to clemson and the rest to smaller colleges don't lie.

2 nights a week at those advanced training facilities. It was no joke to these coaches and players.

Yep. Did your daughter's team have a coach, or a coach and a trainer(technical, not strength/conditioning)?

They had a great coach but also did the advanced training during the week when they were not on the soccer field. Their coach ran their practices like a fine oiled machine he had 3 groups of girls. Two were practicing offense and defense against each other under his instructions and the other group were running on the sides or around the field. He would blow the whistle and the groups would just switch around. Let's just say he was very organized.

How much time did he spend on technicality

You mean like footwork drills with cones and girls staying in their lanes when attacking? Let's just say I didn't grow up playing soccer but I learned alot watching them practice. BTW my daughter is out of school for the summer and she has her own personal soccer training going on right now. She put alittle resume about her past soccer accomplishments and a picture of her in her college soccer jersey put in on open door app and she is training six kids right now between the ages of 9-16. She is using alot of drills she learned from that Coach.

FLBoo. You’re wasting your time. There’s a travel ball thread at least 3 times a week on this board. The infatuation the OT has with it is mind boggling. My theory is that 99% of the people that make condescending remarks about it are people with absolutely no athletic skill whatsoever and/or sucked at baseball growing up. Today, they have no interest in baseball and hates the game.
I’m slowly teaching my kid how to play baseball. He’s in T-ball and improving every day. We don’t get knee deep into the game right now because i just want him to love playing. In the future, I don’t want him to play year round and he wont. But if he’s good enough to play ona tournament team in the summer time to experience that, then yeah I’ll put him on a team. Once the summer is over “, it’ll be on to another sport for the season. I don’t ever expect him to play HS or college ball. We will only take it as far as he wants to take it.

Every single one of these idiots that condescend travel ball players and parents are non-athletics douche-bags.

You forgot Pit Bulls, but if already mentioned, right on.

Naw. Best I got is a 9 year old bookworm still trying to find her passion and a 6 year old with a WWE passion and a slight but growing interest in anything competitive.
He was considered for a TBall All Star team after this season but didn’t make it. I didn’t expect him to, but he improved so much between his first year and second year, I was super proud of him. He will start flag football in the fall. So no travel ball this summer for the kiddo. It’s just riding bikes and swimming for the next couple of months for him.

Good answer. The best part now with watching some of these kids that love the game pursue their dream of playing professional ball. Hell we all wanted that if you had some talent after high school. One kid I know who plays ball at Charleston southern college took off to go chase his dream in calfornia this summer. He and his college roommate got invited to a summer league in calfornia and drove 2 days to pursue their passion. Good for them. This is a kid I knew from 5 years old and that kid could knock the shite out the ball. Guest what his mom posted on her Facebook he got 2 Homers in 10 at bats.

AAU Basketball is the same for me. Our entrance fee to the gym is more than a HS football game.

Prom nothing wrong with failing it makes them stronger my oldest son was B team all stars for a couple years but he put in the work and made the A team. It's shite like that some peeps don't understand anymore. All three of my kids played flag football also and we even kept there little jerseys with their name on their backs. We still have memories of me coaching and running the triple option.

I love watching all that. My niece was the same growing up. She played travel softball. Saw a lot of girls grow up. Niece was so good she made varsity for Sulphur as a freshman. That doesn’t happen often. But, with the wrong attitude and the wrong set of friends, that goes downhill fast and it was over before it started. Paths can go either way.
I just hope my boy loves it. I just hope he enjoys the competition and being out their with other kids. He’s super social already and this gets him out there with other boys as well. Time will tell. I’ll never force him to play anything he doesn’t want to play. I “make” him now only because if it were up to him, it’d be YouTube 90%’of the time.
Like i said, I have to clear the path for him to get started. Once he’s on that path, itll be up to him where he goes and how he wants to use it.

My youngest son chose the wrong path also. Got with the, wrong crowd. The boy had the height and size to go along with athletic ability but his focus on his class work did him in. He is good kid and has learned alot but nothing has been given to him. He starts community college out here in the fall no scholarship just my money and hopefully some passion to succeed in life.
