They're lucky it didn't fall on a steel pier. Those cars easily weigh 60+ kips, assuming they are unloaded... Loaded like 280+. A lot of bridges aren't meant to handle that sort of lateral load.

A friend who works on tugs on the river posted a pic of his wind gauge registering 115 mph in that area.

Anyone heard anything about the stages at Jazz Fest? If it was strong enough to blow a train off a bridge, they probably didn't stand a chance.

Someone at the Cane's in Elmwood got video of the cars tipping and the containers falling from the bridge. The wife just texted me the video from TV.
