Show me where this is actual law. Please
Once you enter the intersection (being past the white line) you are allowed to exit the intersection after a red light almost anywhere I have ever been. Other cars have to wait for you to exit the intersection first before going even with a green light.
There are one off "don't block the box" exception that are clearly marked with signs and many times with road markings
What state are you in?

This and a certain demographic that just has to make a left hand turn coming out of a business across 3 lanes of traffic and a common turning lane. And the idiots that let them in and now block lanes because the other lanes, most rightly so, won’t let them. Take a right and then a left further down the road. Or better yet, plan your errand route better. Hello Seigan Lane!

This is one really grinds my gears. Sat through 2.5 light cycles on Essen one day.
Also to hijack the thread a little. Something just as aggravating and far more dangerous. The assholes who try and skip the lines on interstate exits. (I see it everyday at highland and Prarieville exits) they slam on their brakes to try to merge and cut the line of cars at the last second.
Jackass a couple weeks ago went from 70 to 20 to try and find a spot. gunna cause a massive pileup one day.

bet you and everyone else would come on here and whine about the police pulling people over on busy intersections causing more traffic headaches.
Well yeah, no shite or the cop could wave them into a parking lot and out of traffic to avoid impeding traffic flow. Of course I would bitch if a cop decided to pull someone “on busy intersections” causing more traffic. Who wouldn’t?

Hello Seigan Lane!
Happens all the time with people trying to go left on Perkins out of the Walgreens parking lot on Perkins/Staring when all they would have to do is exit the Staring entrance and get in the turn lane.

It’s proper to pull into the middle of an intersection as the light ruins amber to red. It’s called “establishing your position”. As the light changes, you turn and go.

Do you ever hold down the horn to draw attention to the assholes doing this? Watching them meltdown is one of the few things in life that make me happy. My wife also swears this is how I’ll be murdered.

Don't block the box. I've seen these laws with that slogan posted.

you don’t have enough room to clear the intersecting you shouldn’t have pulled into it in the first place.
Yea, clearly though I bet you follow plenty of moving cars through an intersection before they get all the way plus a car length past. My point wasn’t folks pulling up behind stand still traffic, it was normal flow with space for several cars and 1 (or more) stop leaving wide and unexpected gaps

That one’s particularly annoying. And common,

Car pickup blockages are the worst.

Enforcement of traffic laws and litter laws would go a long way of helping our metro area.
And if people would quit shooting each other.
Common sense?

Traffic rant: Police should ticket drivers who pull into an intersection and block traffic
..when their light turns red.
It’s common occurrence. If there isn’t enough room for your car to clear the intersection, don’t pull into it.

I remember back in the day when people were relatively polite drivers:
when they would wait at the light until their turn or wait until the next light cycle.
Or when they would pull to the right in a 2-lane to let people pass, or move into the break-down to let faster drivers pass on a single-lane highway.
When they wouldn’t pull out right in front of you from a stop sign doing 20mph in a 50+.
What happened?

Also to add to the BR traffic rants
How are schools located on major thoroughfares allowed to lineup 50 cars in carpool lines blocking traffic? Absolutely absurd

So if your still out in the middle and your light turns red, is that the proper way to do it?
Yes, then you have the right of way to complete your turn.

If you have the green light just run into them. Let their insurance buy you a new car.

Racing to the end of the merge lane and expecting to be let in. Pisses me off more than anything.
I've pissed off alot of people by blocking the lane a quarter of a mile back. I'll get the traffic moving and I feel no regrets.
I've also drove 2 miles on the shoulder to the next exit so I wouldn't have to sit in traffic.

It is my biggest pet peeve. I have said this many times: When I become an old man, I am going to buy an old, beat up, big sedan. I will drive it a few times a week and when this happens to me, I am going to floor it and t-bone the frick out of that vehicle. When the police arrive I will do my best Biden impression while insisting I don't understand what happened, all I know is I had a green light and the other car surely must have ran the red light. And then I will sleep like a baby that afternoon after my ice cream.
