Just need a couple of 12 hour breaks at charging stations
A whole day just to charge the damn batteries?

The point is if I can’t drive from here to Wisconsin or something, it doesn’t do me much good does it?
I’m confused. You want to drive to Wisconsin from Louisiana without stopping?
The new cars coming out (lucid) can probably get you 700-800 miles with one 20ish minute stop. That’s as good or better than pretty much any ICE personal vehicle.
If you really care about covering long distances (600+ miles) without “wasting” time, you should be flying anyway.

I'm sure Louisiana doesn't have a chance with this anyway. It makes sense to put the battery plant either near raw material sources or near existing production. I don't think Louisiana has either.

The battery plant will be within a 5 hour milk run distance from where the vehicles are being assembled. Also, the battery facilities suppliers will need to be within a 5 hour milk run distance.
Currently Hybrids are being assembled in Georgetown, KY...and other companies are already building battery plants in Kentucky and Tennessee. I would say that the odds highly favor Tennessee or Kentucky for the battery facility location.
Outside of that, if they shift hybrid assembly to another location (i.e. Texas, Mississippi or Indiana), then I could see co-locating a battery facility there. If I were betting on it, I would say Tennessee/Kentucky are neck and neck for the facility (depending on incentives offered to locate there) and everyone else is a very distant 3rd.

But America is vast. The battery tech is nowhere near there I want to be able to drive farther than 200 miles before I have to recharge for hours

No doubt Alabama plays a good game. That Mercedes plant is unbelievable.

To attract outside businesses to come here, especially for work that is skilled to semi-skilled, we have to improve our infrastructure, meaning primarily schools, universities, parks and recreation, etc. If we can provide a quality place to raise a family, we can attract national and international businesses.
To do this, we'd have to get rid of democrats. That means you have to go! See ya!

No, even if we could compete with this, there would a lot of setbacks with the greedy Democrats in charge and the "derp, mUh oIl & gAs" types opposing it.

I feel like most new jobs end up in Huntsville.

Alabama, Tenneesse, North Carolina, or Kentucky.

Louisiana would only have a chance it only involves oil based batteries.

Louisiana can't even get a Buc-ee's.

If LA can frick that up, this state will gladly do that

We usually pass on plants unless they are chemical plants that cause cancer

Will be interesting. Haven't heard any talk locally about a Toyota Battery plant and I live 5 minutes from the plant.
Ford just announced their battery plant about 40 minutes from their manufacturing facilities in Louisville.

It isn't a Governor issue, it is a Louisiana overall issue. Jindal had 8 years to attract the automotive industry and failed as well. Look at Ms, Al, and Sc that are landing those sectors and jobs, those states aren't subsidizing billionaire NFL team owners like La does with the Saints. That money could be used to attract better industry along the I 20 corridor away from the hurricane prone south louisiana I 10 corridor.
