Some people seek refuge from the heat, while others want to steam in it — including tourists flocking to Death Valley National Park for an expected mind-melting world heat record that could be set this weekend.

The park straddling California and Nevada is well known for its torrid temps, but sweat aficionados want to experience what’s in store at Furnace Creek, where the visitor center is located, Forbes reported.

The heat is expected to hit a high of 131 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, ?setting a world record for the hottest temperature ever reliably recorded, the National Weather Service told the news outlet.

Even the low that night is projected to top the three-digit mark.

Still beats being in a swamp where the humidity is so high that you can feel water vapor in the air. Dry heat actually feels pretty good as long as you know when to cool off

Not when you’re in the direct sun. And not when you’re in Vegas nursing a hangover.

Two exceptions off the top of my head.

The tourists need to look into joining the 300 Club in Antarctica. Look it up.

Maybe fly a few hundred of the firefighting planes over and dump it with a bunch of water so they can raise the humidity and get the "feels like" up to about 160 degrees.

If you have enough water, you may be miserable out there but your sweat will still be able to cool you down.

Not quite the same as a 95 deg wet bulb temperature, when your body loses its ability to control your core temperature and you die after hours of exposure.

Did my fair share of humping well logging tools in 112-116 deg F weather in CA... it's much better than summer along the gulf coast (at least at that temp).
