Need more info. Boots have a limited purpose:
1) Need a boost in height.
2) Being That Guy when doing one of those redneck line dancing things with the heavy gals
3) A good fit when securing them to stirrups when on horseback or during a gynecological exam

same here. i just cant understand leather soled boots. They shed "skin" if you walk on anything rough. Also loud as hell walking around the office.

I bought a cheaper pair of Dan Post boots - (didn't want to spend too much money since they were for bar dancing, and liable to get torn up quick). Very happy with them.
You gotta match the boot attributes with how you plan to use them.

On a serious note, chelsea style for casual. Easy to put on and take off and are stylish. Ugg, Sorel, Blundstone make really nice good looking boots. You get what you pay for with boots.
