Unless this 90-year-old man’s children are physically/mentally handicapped, the only challenge I can see is one of undue influence over him by someone or something of the like.

Not to split hairs but you dont die from having parkinsons.

I only say this because i just had this conversation with my last living grandparent, whom has parkinsons.

I read somewhere that Sean Payton couldn't stand Rita and had a clause in his contract that would void it if she ever became owner ,and the same for Loomis. They don't seem to be the greatest bunch ,but then again I have never met them so what do I know.

The love of money is the root of all evil. Evil to the point that man turns against his own children, grandchildren.

The Catholic church will paint him a saint only because he has given millions of dollars to them.

It is not mans's self defined good works that get one into heaven.

My parents are divorced and obviously not as rich as TB but my dad's will doesn't mention his 46 yr old girlfriend (he's 68). I guess I wasn't that horrible to him as a teenager

Unfortunately, The will changes usually happen toward the end. Similar to the TB situation.

You've got the last sentence backwards.

I’d hate to see what Gale’s inheritance tax is going to look like.

From what has been said, Rita and the others fricked themselves out of the will when they tried to have Benson ruled incompetent to run the team. Rita was VERY WELL known to be bat shite crazy, both from the players and front office perspective. Not to mention, she was very much a shite to anyone that worked for her.

On the flip side, Gayle is well liked by all in the organization. It was an easy thing for Benson once that suit ended in his favor. The three Rs will be taken care of for the rest of their lives, they just won’t have any hand in the organization.

I'm pretty sure spouses don't have to pay inheritance taxes...

Hate to see what the inheritance tax bill is for whoever gets the Saints after Gayle. I guess she could remarry and just keep kicking the can down the road

Maybe so. There was some kind of litigation and I can’t imagine the outcome being that his children got nothing from that. That would make sense

Benson said they would be taken care of even before the litigation, but he didn't want them in control of the franchises, etc. I mean, the grandaughter had so many issues that she was quietly suspended for 6 months or something when she was working with the Saints as the future heir. Apparently nobody liked her once she got a little power.

And I’ll pile on and say that after spending a weekend hunting with Ryan at the Benson family ranch in Texas a few years ago, I certainly wouldn’t want him managing anything more than a snowball stand. Couple sandwiches short of a picnic.

Gayle is probably lonely...she may need a companion, perhaps much younger than herself

I know Benson's step daughter from his second marriage. She and her husband own Peake BMW in Metairie. She's filthy fricking rich. I can only imagine all of those kids and grandkids are set for life. It's all just how much at this point.

I’m pretty sure he was brought into this mess by his mother and sister. From what I’ve heard he has never had any interest in the teams and was always happy with just the ranch.

Gayle's will is set up so half of the assets goes to the Benson Charitable Foundation and half goes to her estate.

The half that goes to the foundation will escape estate tax.

The half that goes to her estate... that might have a decent estate tax bill.

And the R's still have their trust valued at about half a billion. Mostly Texas assets. They are gonna be ok.
