Eighth floor, checking in. No cold water in our shower that year, but I guess it beat the sixth floor having no hot water. Mr. Gorbaachev, tear down this dorm.

So it was closed for my tenure at LSU. I had no idea that it had reopened, or was even still standing.

Very subtle, it took me five years to graduate, brag.

Lost my virginity in that building Senior year of HS; went out to Tigerland with a group of friends that was a year older and already at LSU.

I had work the next morning at 7 AM in Gonzales so I had to wake up at like 5 AM to leave. You had to have a card or something to operate the elevator so I took the stairs from like the 7th or 8th floor. When I opened the door at the bottom of the stairs, the fire alarm went off waking up the entire building so I high tailed it the frick out of there. Got to my truck and floored it until I was off campus.

Good times.

Must have been after my time, because:

1. No card was required to operate the elevator
2. The elevators were not typically operating

I'll believe it when I see it. That damned thing has been scheduled for demo 10 times in the past 30 years. It will never die.

Didn't live there, but I will always remember Kirby Smith as the place where, when visiting friends, we could smoke that stuff without any questions asked. It was also the place where, while smoking that stuff, I first heard Metallica's Ride the Lightning on a very powerful and loud stereo system, when the record first came out. Good times.

I lived there for one semester in 2000. It was a disgusting shithole then, but the memories are awesome.

Kirby Smith was a shite hole back when I started in 2011. I knew it was still standing but I didn't know it was still open.

Blake was 1000x better though that's where the cool people were at.

When they implode that thing, Slippy DNA from 1985 will go airborne.

Hope none of the fine ladies of the Bottom get pregnant.

They have new dorms built near Laville/Miller/Herget. They look pretty nice. I wonder if this will be the death blow to the shitty old sixties buildings.

My brother was a RA there for the 4 years he was at LSU

So I visited that place numerous times

I guess kids don’t want to live like that anymore

Those elevators on Sunday morning...

That is, if they even worked. Half the time they didn't.
