Probably going to get a lot more when he sells the wedges. BeCu Ping clubs are pretty popular, especially the square grooves like those are.

New $600+ tax info must suck now.

Many purchase items at a much higher rate, so I think they can write them off as losses now on a Schedule D cap net loss, up to certain limits. Am I wrong about this? I am not a tax guy, so I try well may be wrong.

The $10,001 includes what I took in for shipping. If you take away the $920 I received for the movie poster, it comes out to over $66 an item. I would say the average shipping cost per item is less than $10.

Good for you. Still not digging through peoples shite on the weekends.

That was out the window in January. Last year I claimed $28,000 in eBay revenue

but if you purchase them all at garage sales with cash......

Damn. I already knew people were irrational about sneakers so that didn't surprise me, but somebody paid $100 for an old CRT TV? Why?

Also, I think both you and the auction winner did pretty well with that Nikon.

You'd have to average about $7 per item on all 137 other items to nullify just the movie poster at $400 shipping.

You have 20 other items over $10 here some as high as $30 so you are likely closer to $20 than $10 per item on shipping.

I would suggest that you don’t bid on his shite if you have a problem with his shipping prices. If you don’t plan to, what difference does it make to you?

And they are black dot, which is standard lies. Those are especially popular.

Here's my thoughts on that set of irons - unless they are just collectible clubs and not meant for actual play

get rid of the 2 and 3 - no need for those in the modern bag. Add 3 more wedges - the set needs a sand, gap and lob.

I have a set of Ping irons and I love love them, but they are a lot more modern than those. My setup is 4-9, 3 wood, driver, hybrid, 4 wedges and a putter.

One factor you are not seeing is my shipping discount.
Let’s say they shipping above is $12. That was generated through eBay’s shipping calculator, and if I had brought the item to the post office and paid for postage, it would have been $12.
But I pay all my postage through eBay and eBay gets a discount with USPS/FedEx/UPS. The discount is anywhere between 15-50%.
There was something that the calculator said would have been over $70 for postage through FedEx. I did my postage through eBay and got a 52% discount. I did pass some of the savings back to the buyer, but I kept some.

Someone bought that TV for $99? Was it for a movie prop or something?

It worked perfectly and the OG gamers want these old tv’s to hook up old Ataris/Nintendo NES/etc. They want to keep it old school.

13in working CRTs are in high demand for old school arcade game refurbishments. Same with 19in ones.

I was actually expecting nearly double that.

Yeah, I figured you'd get more for those. I think you even had higher offers in the thread you originally posted them in from posters on here.

But, you invest tons of time into this. Time is money. Time is living.

Two factors you are not seeing.

First and foremost, it’s fun. It’s a major adrenaline rush finding these things in the wild for next to nothing. It’s my hobby.

Second, it’s a part time job. I probably spend about 10 hours a week (at my busiest times) picking, listing, & packing. Last year I did $28,000 on eBay (plus unknown amount on FB and directly to people). I’m not busy every week (it slows down during the winter and mid summer), but if I even spent 10 hours a week for 52 weeks, I did over $500 a week in sales, averaging $50 an hour. There’s many weeks I didn’t do anything, plus I work every other weekend, so that takes out 1/2 the Saturdays for garage sales.

I don’t think you understand the significance of becu square groove Ping Eye 2 irons with no plus on them. These are the ones that lead to banning of square grooves, but the PGA grandfathered these in. You can also no longer get copper irons from Ping. These are not just your ordinary old set of irons as you seem to think.

So you don't have a hobby? If so, does that hobby take up your time? Does that hobby make you money, or does it cost you money?

so his hobby is better cause it makes him money? if that's the argument, then we need to focus on who can make more money with his x time and expenses he's invested into his hobby as well as storage space of his home.

I still don't understand. That's not a set that I would play with because I don't want a 2 or 3 iron in my bag. Especially a 2 - frick that club. The clubs that make the most difference in my bag are my wedges. So these are collectibles or is someone actually planning on playing golf with the clubs?
