It is a shithole but it’s enjoyable for a stiff drink on the way somewhere/on the way home.

I love bringing people for the first time. I tell them it’s a dive so don’t expect much but when we turn in the parking lot it’s way worse than they expected.

You joke, but I brought a well-meaning-yet-high-maintenance friend there back when we were like 21-22 and she asked the ~65 year old bartender, "So what's a good shot to get?" He stared at her and looked at me to help. I just told her we aren't doing shots. I had no idea how to explain the mixed lemon drops she was accustomed to are not going to be found at The Jefferson.

Yeah actually not long ago I was there and asked the dude for a jager bomb since I wanted a shot but also energy. He asked what was in it and I told him. I said jager and Red Bull and I had to tell him no ice. Basically got a rocks glass 3/4ths of jager and a splash of Red Bull.

There is a younger chick that works there that knows what she is doing. Well younger comparatively.

Do they serve food? I might go there this weekend. Tired of being overcharged for a whiskey.

When did the Cedarcrest Lounge become a gay bar? There's now a big rainbow flag on the outside of the building.

Management must be really old. Did they call tank tops "Muscle shirts" in the 50's, and before? I was born in 1959, and I grew up calling them tank tops.

While we're at it, what's the scoop on Ms. G's Tavern? I drop Jones off at Bayou Billiards sometimes and I'm always tempted to go next door.

On the other end of the spectrum as far as little-known spots.. Chorum Hall is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. It is nothing like the others in this thread, but it is out off of N Ardenwood all by its lonesome.
