Not in my experience. Unless they are talking about New Orleans to visit for fun. My friends out here tease me all the time about being from Louisiana. And most of them are originally from either the midwest or east coast.

This is the most beautiful sight while still in Louisiana...

No doubt. Spent a damn near perfect day on the water. Saw four friendly gators and about a hundred happy turtles. Wonderful day in some of the finest country anywhere.

Nice, you found a stretch of road without a pothole.

Those who don't appreciate the beauty of Louisiana have never driven La 1 through New Roads and Point Coupee Parish along the False River. Or been to Avery Island. Or seen the Vermilion Bay. Or Natchitoches. So much beauty in Louisiana. So little time.

The most beautiful drives I've taken are thru north central Wyoming and up Provo canyon towards park city, Utah. Both are unreal

Just outside of Buffalo, WY

I never appreciated it until I lived away a few times for semesters abroad and internships.

That is a nice picture.

I don't have to prove how jaded I am by saying I've seen so many places the same or nicer.

If the place where you are is pretty other places don't matter until you go there no matter how pretty they are.

I fall into this category. Honestly though, the only thing that isnt beautiful about Louisiana is the people that run it.

All depends on your perspective. Being from here, I guess I sort of take it for granted. On the other hand, I'm personally blown away by the American Southwest. When I was in Arizona, I mentioned where I was from, and several folks marvelled at the possibility of seeing "that much green at once".
