Those who bring a carryon to stuff in the overhead should pay more, not less

System is backwards. I pay 50 to check a bag and watch retards take 20 minutes to get off a fricking plane.

70 bucks to use the overhead. Fee for inconveniencing those who already paid 50 to not bring all their shite on the plane.

I’m not paying them to take my bag and then potentially lose it or get delayed trying to leave the airport.

That isn't how the economics of running an airline work

Does it work at all, minus the subsidies? Legit question, it is a convenient option even if it doesnt break even on its own

They should do away with carryons altogether and just tell everyone to get the frick on and sit down

I like seeing all the retards getting up 1st and trying to get down the aisle. I only fly a few times a year and usually do 1st class 25% of the time because of a longer flight. I’m thinking up bumping that up to not be with the common folk.

The only service that doesnt charge for a convenience. Even if others are inconvenienced and already charged.

100% agree. The only reason airlines probably dont do this is because they make more money from checked luggage than carryons.

And there would be an uproar that airlines are charging people to bring their medicines and whatever "necessities" onboard.

1st checked bag and a "personal item" sized bag would be free. You'd have to pay for the convivence you list above for a carry on suitcase...

Plenty of airlines around the world charge for carry on bags. It will be commonplace for US Domestic airlines within 5 years

Airlines have hacked a way to look at you at check in and say " you in or out?". Their dimension box is the answer. Pay, bring on, or go sulk at Cru'

I’m not a huge luggage guy, but you obviously never fly international with this statement because frankly it’s absolutely stupid.

Because I can wait a long arse time on international from the back of the plane, get off with some carryons, and then I have to go wait for a long time for my luggage.

If no carry ons were allowed it would take a very long time.

The economics of having 2 guys unload a plane compared to 100 people is just stupid.

Etc: it’s also about capacity. A plane could literally fill up if no one carried on. That space above your head is used space that otherwise would
Not be. There’s photos from the 70s when there was no overhead storage. I would have no issue paying $10 for a carryon but if it’s $50 for a full size bag it’s absurd for them to charge $40 or $50 for a carry on
