To the OP.
Lots of great advice already mentioned. Just a few stupid one's though.
I hope you have been putting out feelers for other places of employment. You probably have.
Its been said millions of times, but start 'networking'. Friends, family, associates, college buddies...asking for job leads.
Some are saying to just quit. Stupid advice. Have something lined up first & give two weeks notice.
If they tell you to hit the door, so what? Take that time to recharge, relax and visit some old friends or relatives.
I don't care what anyone says, if you up and quit without any notice, you will be seen as a 'job-hopper', unreliable, wishy-washy... and potential employers will be reluctant to hire you.
Suppose you up and quit. The next place wants to hire you. Then they ask for references and ask why did you leave your last job. Ohhhh
Yes, it may have been a crappy place with a crappy boss but they will look at you with a raised eye-brow.
They may be best buddies with your old boss, they may be a family member of your old boss or just a casual associate that they see from time to time.
Believe it or not, most managers, bosses, owners...are almost in a fraternity. If you just up and quit and especially if you start bad-mouthing your previous boss, employer...they will wonder what you will do or say about them.
Perhaps, you need to have a Come-to-Jesus meeting with your boss. IDK
I hope it works out well for you.

There is zero proof of this being true. OP should just quit. Screw the corporate world and their moronic games. We live in a different world now where the pendulum has swung back to favor the worker. Rules like the quote I referenced, or giving 2 weeks notice died over a decade ago.
Well, it’s probably about to turn back away from workers. Not immediately, but we’re already starting to see some layoffs.
If OP is truly miserable, might be good to quit but give proper notice so at least the bridge isn’t burned. Might be a wake up call for the owner and make life better for the remaining employees too. There’s really no advantage to going out blazing unless you won the lottery.

I quit a job Dec 31st, 2021 that sounds eerily similar.
One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Good luck.

This is the gospel truth. Just like, when you have a old lady, it seems like every other woman you meet is trying to throw that shite on ya, but when ya single, none of those whores even wanna know.
It's much easier to find a job when you have a job.

Why don't you be direct if you are frick it point
Boss why do you think those jobs are not complete? I believe they are complete so curious what data set you have.
He can then say oh I don't know wtf I am talking about or they know something you don't. Also might be able to suggest fix aka do you want weekly recap.

That job sounds like it sucks. I’ve been there with a small business owner. Line something up first then get the frick out.

Met with the owner first thing this morning and addressed all the issues, owner got all flustered then changed the whole tune and started asking how my weekend was, etc.
Didn't end up quitting but this was honestly the last straw, had been looking around a little but am job searching in earnest now

Nah, I'm done. I kept the bitchy emails as motivation in case I start thinking "it isn't that bad."

Simply not true anymore.

You think OP doesn't have anyone in the company he can use as a reference? If he's made enemies with everyone in his current company that would work as a reference he has other issues.

Again, no they won't.

Boss, it's not 1963 anymore.
OP, if you want to quit, then quit. It really is that simple.
If the next employer asks why you quit, tell them that it wasn't a good fit/wanted new challenges/wanted to take a sabbatical. Tell them you wanted to take a longer vacation because you needed a breather and knew you weren't going to stay with your company long term. That says that you're not afraid of change, you're responsible enough to have saved some money specifically for this reason, and you like to think critically before you make a decision. I doubt "Did you put your 2 weeks notice in?" even comes up.

You've made your complaints known, hopefully in a calm and professional manner. Now it's up to the owner to make changes. You'll know soon enough if he/she is serious about making these changes.
In either case your plan to look in earnest is a good one.

Seriously man, you've had over a dozen posts just this morning (in the last 2 hrs) you're at work and already met with your boss?
