Not to get political, but half of these answers/responses in this thread is why I 100% believe in euthanasia.

I would’ve said “probably end stages of ALS” a few months ago, before I experienced what I posted on page
Her mom had it and she always said "If I ever get it just kill me because that's no way to live". As she was starting to decline she said she wishes there was a pill she could take before going to bed and... just not wake up in the morning. I truly wish that was an option. In my opinion, its inhumane for people to do have that option. I know its an option in some states, but nope... For some reason, because people would rather keep people living, no matter how bad their quality of life is, because they are scared of the idea of that person dying.
And if you do anything to try to assist that person, at their wish, you can get charged with murder.

I’ve always wondered about people who commit suicide by something other than a gun, do they begin to regret their decision while they’re still conscious but know there is no going back.

Life in prison that starts when you’re under 30.
They say you only do two days, the day you get in, and the day you get out. Every day is the same and you get used to it quickly.
Worse than death? Being addicted. Your whole existence is hijacked by a chemical lie.

The family that owned the property next to my family's lake house had a son who was in a really bad car accident when he was in his late teens or early twenties. He had major back injuries and brain damage. He was confined to a wheelchair and lost his ability to speak. I think he lived until he was in his 60s.
I couldn't imagine that.

ALS end stages in particular.
everytime I hear "ALS" I think of the video of the guy who was diagnosed with it and shot himself. He called 911, told his wife/family goodbye and walked to the end of his driveway and pulled the trigger.
As horrific as that was, I have respect for him for going out on his own terms.
