i worked at an independent franchise Pizza Hut in west Texas in the 90s.

Our boss let us get really creative on what we wanted to do with our bar and we'd have people that just came in and do all you can eat salads all day or dozens of to go salads at lunch.

i don't remember the exact numbers, but my boss said that on a good weekday with the pizza buffet and the people getting salads, we probably spent $50 (1998 money) on all the salad ingredients and made $2-300.

Grew up in Hawaii where spam is everywhere. We had it for school lunch at least once a week. I loved it.

So, last year I decided to give it an adult checkout. It is awful.

ETA: There are a few Hawaiian chefs who create food with spam that looks pretty damn good.
