Not gonna lie, I'd consider Vermont.

These 110 heat index days starting in June, already hitting our 27th day over 90 degrees before mid-summer make this shite very tempting. Even with their winter.

Surely Dairy farmers need therapy too.

The worse are the ones that live in woke cities and constantly complain lol

Florida sucks. I haven no idea what the appeal is. Has some nice beaches that are now overridden with trash.

Rest of the state is a hot redneck infested swamp.

Miami is like the douche capital of the world.

Florida is gross

Maine has always been intriguing to me. All the stuff I've ever seen in media portrays the people sort of like good ol boy rednecks from the south. Either that, or tight-knit fishing communities on the coast.

They lean more liberal, but not progressive lunatics and I think I could handle that. I'm not sure I could handle the winters there though. Seems they could get pretty damn brutal.

That's my big question mark with Hawaii. It's definitely cool. But most people probably couldn't find meaningful employment there.

Rural Vermont and Maine are like that. But their winters are rough. And the big "New England" city is Boston, which is full of assholes. So I imagine the nicer parts of Vermont and Maine get flooded with those jerks during the summer.

I think the people that bitch about "voting rights" want lax standards so cheating can occur.

Texas seems significantly less trashy.

Also Florida does have better beaches (besides SPI in texas) but Texas has the hill country and big bend.

Also better small towns.

For me it would be a tough choice between the two. Probably lean towards Florida if I can live someplace really pretty and near a nice beach like St. Augustine. I also like the Tampa Bay area as far as big metro areas go in Florida. Miami has all the big city amenities if that's your thing. They are trying to become somewhat of tech hub too.

Texas clearly has more economic opportunity though, as evidence by the influx of people from other states and all the corporate relocations from California and Illinois. The food and the people in Houston are awesome for such a large city. The beaches in most of south Texas suck though. I like Fort Worth and San Antonio. El Paso and Corpus Christi aren't bad either. Austin isn't really my speed but it's still a cool place.

Neither Florida and Texas have state income taxes, but they generally have high property taxes.

Tennessee would be a good alternative to those two. Memphis has extremely low costs of living and some excellent suburbs along with a very robust (for its size) Fortune 500 presence. I feel like the secret is out on Nashville unfortunately.

If we could build up the infrastructure and improve the business climate on the central gulf coast (Mobile, Biloxi, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles)....that could be an awesome region. So much potential that just isn't realized.

Upstate NJ is actually supposed to be beautiful, the problem is when the rest of the country hears New Jersey they think of Newark or Jersey Shore.

West coast is the best coast.

There's crappy parts to every state. And the rural Floridians and evasive wildlife are drawbacks.

I still like Florida. Definitely in the run with Texas for my favorite state.
