What's closer- West Leb or Littleton?

W Leb for me, has damn near everything one could need with the exception of seafood. No fresh shrimp to be found for 100 miles and the NE Atlantic fish ain't got shite on Gulf of Mexico and SE Atlantic fish.

I like the idea of owning a sugar shack, but operating it seems like a lot of work. Can I outsource that?

Also, by sugar shack I assume that’s a Vermont euphemism for brothel?

Seafood is tough up in those parts. Domestic shrimp options come from Carolina and almost always come with the heads off. Fried clam strips are the closest to fun fried seafood, and you are right about the north Atlantic fish.

At least you very close to a damn fine hospital but far enough to not have neighbors in sight.

Central VT in Royalton about 15 mins from Woodstock. Home of VT Law School. Super nice area...not much on restaurants with the exception of the world famous (over-priced) Worthy Burger, but plenty of local farm fresh food and several good hangouts with plenty of beer on tap and great access to the White River and hiking for recreation. I do have 16 ski resorts within a 90 min radius in season. Hell, the best times are hanging on the property with folks, good weather, good adult beverages, good puff-puff (if one is so inclined) and cooking good grub over natural wood cut from 50 ft away. It is pretty special.

Lol...unfortunately due to the shallow pool of talent here that is incorrect. Sugarshacks are for tapping the maple trees for syrup and processing. For many it is a recreational activity is akin to hanging out and crawfishing or crabbing back in La.

Oh man. I’m so jealous. Woodstock is our favorite place in VT. I would eat at Worthy Kitchen every day if my life if I could.

We usually stay at the Kedron Valley Inn because it’s pet friendly and we like to bring the dogs with us.

Lol...unfortunately due to the shallow pool of talent you're best burning a pile of cash in a Cumby's parking lot. Sugarshacks are for tapping kegs, playing with fire, and boiling the hell out of sugar water in sauna-like conditions for hours just after the long cold winter but before mud season. For some it is a recreational activity but for others it's a way to make something that costs 8x the retail cost of gas to put on foodstuff.

Moved to Iowa and it’s pretty great. I wish the fishing was better but Bettendorf is like going back in time. No crime , great schools, everyone outside. Property taxes are really high though. I pay more per month here than I would pay in a year in AL or LA.

Gorgeous piece of property. The cold is what would be my one disadvantage.

What type of work is most prominent in Vermont?
