It's shocking how many houses and apts don't have A/C in this part of the country. You might only need it a few weeks a year, but you still need it.

Pretty common in the Northeast as well

Hell yeah, we finally hit 70 next week...

Been a very late spring/summer.

In central Mississippi and the local weather guy was remarking last night about how few 90’s we’ve had so far this summer

Low humidity on the right side of the cascades so I'll be enjoying my weekend at Lake Coeur de Alene

I’m working on the peninsula across from Seattle & it’s getting warm. The studio I’m in doesn’t have AC. This weekend I booked a hotel with AC as the temps are going to hit triple digits. Locals I work with tell me it will only last a couple of days, shite I hope so bc I’m up here until September.

I could have actually used some AC during the SW heat wave last week. Our altitude means it is very uncommon to need it but hot downsloping winds pushed it well into the upper 80s here. Which at 9600' is pretty impressive.

I don't think I'd live under 7500' in the lower 48 without a nice HVAC unit.

The more water you got near you, the better. They're right that this level of heat will be short lived and very uncommon. I'm not going to make a thread on TD for hot weather in the NW unless it looks to be exceptionally out of the norm.

I may be in the minority for a Southerner but I love the weather up in that part of the world. I loathe the heat and humidity down here.

I love the weather up there and bought a large amount of land there.

I'm in my non-climate controlled shop putting new 30" tires and wheels on a side by side. Way too freaking hot.

We might hit 90 once a decade, 80 once or twice a year. Mainly upper 50's to 70's in summer during he day.

Haven't hit 70 this year, and our temps begin falling in mid july. Looks like we have a chance next week.

I spent a pretty considerable amount of time in the PNW in the 90s. I wouldn't necessarily want to live in Fairbanks either but my tolerance for the cold is better than the heat for whatever reason. Genetics perhaps.

What I really enjoyed in the summer up in northern Washington was that it was cool at night even when it got up to 84 or so during the day.

I can't say I'm unhappy about the high 60s for highs and dipping into the 30s at night while this is going on. Just sad because this kind of exceptional heat up there will kill some people.
