Just one of many model runs putting triple digits into Portland, Seattle, and most of WA and OR.

Just a giant 594 dm ridge sitting over the Pacific NW. If you don't speak cloud nerd, that's a ridiculously hot pocket of air for that region.

Looking at ensemble data, the high temperatures for Portland on Sunday are absolutely ridiculous. A range of 105-114 between the 80 members of the Euro and GFS ensembles.

Oh and look, the central valley going to be hot as frick too.

Any of our NW posters ready for Arizona summer to invade for a few days?

I can’t even imagine the stench radiating off of all the liberal filth in Portland and Seattle in triple digit temps

Yeah, that's the problem. Temperatures might not get below 70 at night. Which for SE people isn't abnormal but it is up there. It's like when it doesn't get below 80 here, that's when you start seeing the heat related illnesses spike.

I'm just glad to have Central Heat and Air. It's shocking how many houses and apts don't have A/C in this part of the country. You might only need it a few weeks a year, but you still need it.

Low humidity on the right side of the cascades so I'll be enjoying my weekend at Lake Coeur de Alene

I get it for most heat scenarios up there. You won't be comfortable but you can typically make do just getting a cross breeze.

This ain't your normal hot spell.

I'm glad for you and yours that you got A/C though. Stay cool.

I'm camping this weekend but not looking forward to Sunday night-tues with no air conditioning. Mom's flying up from Florida too, she's trying to escape the heat

It's not bad in Central Oregon today. This weekend looks like another story, though.

There will be so many stories in the news about global warming, I mean climate change in the news because of this.

I lived in Seattle for one year and my apartment didn't have AC. I had a corner apt facing west so I had a nice cross breeze..But once the temperature got into the mid-high 80's I bought a portable AC unit.. Just moved it around the apartment and and it worked out fine. I was not going to sweat at night..

Hydration and shade. The good thing about a dry heat is you can get relief pretty quick in the shade, but you'll be sweating way more than you realize since it'll evaporate quickly.

That's rough though, to bring a historic heatwave with her.
