No. Most people aren’t gay and don’t strive to be

If you've ever actually...i dunno, read the source material, you would see that the show isn't over-representing a goddamn thing. And I know you don't seem to understand this, but gay people exist. Always have.
Homosexuality is a sin, baw.

I was talking about this with someone awhile back. Look, I have no problem at all with gay people, but there is no need to highlight gay characters in tv shows, series, movies, etc.

It doesn't matter to me one way or the other if a character in a show I like is gay or not. You can tell the story and there are ways that present itself that will suggest they are gay... But don't show me some love scene with two dudes on each other kissing, about to go at it, when it is irrelevant to the story.

And you can show them going in a room together then laying down with each other and move on. To be honest, I don't really care to see an in detailed love scene with a man & woman. If you are watching with other people, it always seems like its an awkward moment.

If we are being honest I'm a hypercritical straight male. I don't like long love scenes, I definitely don't like watching two dudes go at it, I don't mind at all if its two women, but overall whether its a man and woman or two people from the same sex, you can tell the story by suggesting they went at it instead of showing them almost up to the point they slip it in. That's why they make porn. If I wanted to see it, I'd go watch porn.

It’s taking hold in the youth though. My kid came home from band practice the other day and said over 2/3 of the incoming freshmen in the band this year are either openly gay or bi.

I know it’s band, and band jokes aside, that’s a truly disturbing number. Not for those who truly are gay, but for those who aren’t and won’t realize it until 20 years from now and will know then they were the victims of grooming.

The Left will soon be pushing to replace the National Anthem with "Getting Gay With Kids" from South Park.

I think band is one of those things where it's just taking full root and getting out of control. I mean, I know band is nerdy but at my HS (granted, a while ago) it certainly didn't seem counterculture. More straight laced dorky.

My cousin is in band in Plano schools, and she has a trans section leader, was asked to introduce herself with pronouns, etc. I think that's student-led stuff, but still.

Thankfully mine went to a small, Christian school.

Band was a mixture of nerds and football players because they needed the numbers.

My kids bands' Tuba player was a monster linebacker who just graduated and got a full football scholarship, tough SOB and definitely not an Alphabet person....

Gay people are gay. They get to be gay, and they should. Even if you are against it from a moral standpoint, and I really doubt many are, it’s their right.

Respectfully, shove this comment right up your arse (which you might enjoy).

We are being inundated with Gay propaganda on a constant basis. They have come for the things that make up the fabric of our society. Family, religion, education, art, you name it. They want all of it reshaped to accommodate their subgroup.

We were happy to let gays be gays. Then they demanded marriage, even though civil unions and all the same benefits that apply to marriage were given to them. It has all been down the slippery slope since then, and it is people like you that have greased that slope.

Again, shove it up your arse.

The over representation of homosexuality

I think it's a bit of a dual-pronged reasoning.

1. Hollywood is FULL of homosexuals. This over-representation has now created the belief that the population within media is representative of the population outside of it.

2. To the most vocal of any minority group, they don't just want "acceptance", they want continual "celebration". Having more gay/bi/whatever characters (and they are generally going to be positive/good characters) accomplishes both.

What propaganda led you to become a homophobe? Was it religion, education, art, or your parents?

Seems spot on for most of the responses in this thread.

We had a monster LB/FB on our high school football team. He's gay. Tried way too hard to overcompensate. He's now a "man of the cloth."

Sad that society wouldn't allow him to be who he is and force him to have to hide behind "the cloth."

I feel the same way, but more likely it's always been this way and we just weren't paying attention to it.

Which, BTW, we should still be doing today. I mean, who gives a frick as long as people aren't treading on freedoms and liberty. Why should you or I care? I mean, if I really need to manufacture a reason to hate someone, I would hope I can find a better and more appropriate reason.

I think it was always there but I don't think it looked this. I mean, the ones I knew were teetotalers. They weren't wild in any sense, they were non-conformists by virtue of pouring hours into band and not sports/parties/etc.

If nerdiness manifested itself by them being dorks and quietly reading Tolkien at home instead of partying and now it manifests itself by claiming to be neurodivergent and having a different gender

I think I do care, actually

For anyone in the media (especially tv/movies/theater). They believe the over-representation of gay/bi/etc in their circles is indicative of everyone's circles everywhere.
