This. I remember playing golf all day long as a country club rat and everyone griping at me about "its too hot for you to be out playing golf right now". People have existed in the same temperature settings since the beginning of time. People just need shite to whine more about now.

You know you can Google and find the temps for every day of recorded meteorological history? I just looked up the summer of 1987, when young HouseMom was 10 years old and biking the entirety of Sherwood Forest all summer. It was HOT.

No one is denying that. We are saying there is too little data relative to the earth's age to say global warming is real. One year, or even the past 7 years of warmer temps could just be the natural cycle of the earth.

As I said above, older records are too few and not as accurate. To account for this, they are constantly adjusted. In other words, the records can be manipulated to fit the narrative.

Google "climate records adjusted" and Google AI admits old records can be "adjusted" which can lead to an increase in warming

quote:

Climate records are adjusted to account for changes in methods of observation and data quality over time. For example, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) corrects ocean temperature data to account for changes in how the water's surface temperature is observed. These corrections can reduce the warming trend in global temperatures. Adjustments to input data can also slightly increase the rate of global warming recorded by temperature records. However, the original records are preserved and are available online for free

We have more observation stations than ever coupled with the most accurate technology ever created. Records from just 20-30 years ago aren't as accurate as today much less from 1850 when we began to keep records so again the data is far too little to panic over.

Remember, just 46 years ago in 1978 scientists were predicting we would already be in another Ice Age because 1977 was such a brutal winter. They even had Leonard Nimoy voice over a film about it

This is great. Thanks for sharing

I think that’s where I get annoyed. We can’t bitch about one shitty summer without it being politicized or outright denied thanks to these “experts.”

Crazy thing about the weather, it's always hot in the summer, and always cold in the winter. It takes an incredible amount of hubris to believe you can control global weather patterns.

The Jetstream blew up predictions here. Juneau was on the warmer side til Jan, but just a few miles north was nothing but offshore flows and cold.

Much of interior AK had record cold and snow, despite dire predictions.

Somehow, we survived though.
I was playing tennis tournaments then. Drink water, wet towel occasionally.

I want to recommend a good follow on X.com.

Tony Heller or @TonyClimate always has great posts with data to back up how global warming is scam science and he also is where I learned how the data is "adjusted". He has posted records from prior to the adjustments to show just how they manipulate things

And comparing records from 1850 when they started until now is an unfair comparison anyway.

ok, so 2011 was also on that list.

Regardless if you believe man made climate change is real or not...you can't deny it's hotter now than it was 30-40 years ago.
So what?

You do realize it’s going to get 20-30 degrees warmer on average and there’s not one thing mankind can do about it? Can’t cause it, can’t stop it, will happen.

I think its real, but over exaggerated.

The earth will be fine. Its the uber soft humans that have issues. frick em. If they cant adjust, let them die out.

I can’t tell from your post if you’re agreeing last summer was an anomaly or if you’re saying people were bitching for nothing, but the average high in Baton Rouge in August 2023 was 101.5. This is significantly higher than the previous record years.

last year was hotter by a noticeable margin.
but it has to happen more than once for it to be anything more than an anomaly.

it was well above the average.
but the average is the average for a reason. because that is more typical than any one year blip.

about 10 years or so ago we had a weekend in August that dipped into the mid 50s.
which was significantly below average.

that too was an anomaly

Last summer me and the wife spent it building our house, with help from our 13 year old daughter, who was there half the time. We did all the electrical, plumbing, sheetrock and painting with no AC.

So far this summer the now 14 year old daughter runs/walks 5 days a week, then is picking up sticks/mowing and performing general labor with me on the property during the weekends. Sure we enjoy the AC but so far we are alive.

this right here ^^^.

Its funny my kid is into the Amazing Race so we started streaming all of them from season 1 on. There was an average height guy( 5'10ish) in 2021 they joked he was heavy at 215.

215 would be considered slim now for most people.
