...or turning on their parking lights instead of their headlights at dusk, which is actually illegal in Louisiana. If you need your parking lights for me to see you, then you need your headlights for you to see me.

These threads always result in the most glorious melts every six months. It’s one of the most triggering things for some drivers.

Just because someone on here hasn’t gotten in a wreck because of it doesn’t it isn’t an unnecessarily dangerous practice. This can’t be taught in driver’s Ed classes, so it is a practice created by poor drivers that is spreading because of a complete lack of information. To justify it further encourages the bad practice…which is in most states illegal

Whenever a motor vehicle equipped with head lamps as herein required is also equipped with any auxiliary lamps or any other lamp on the front thereof projecting a beam of intensity greater than 300 candlepower, not more than a total of four of any such lamps on the front of a vehicle shall be lighted at any one time when upon a highway of this state.
C. No moving vehicle upon any public highway within this state shall be operated with only the parking lights for illumination.

People put their flashers on in a blinding rain because they’re hoping it prevents the f*cking morons that don’t slow down from hydroplaning and hitting them. The notion that flashers are dangerous is just dumb. What’s dangerous is the dumbass that continues to drive 70-80 mph down the interstate when it’s pouring like that. Some of us got kids in the car motherfrickers.
