I don’t see nearly as many Confederate flags in the South as I do pride flags in the north.

I’m guessing they also don’t fly from governmental buildings.

Apparently they need to keep from freezing their lips off in the Great White North.

Congrats on getting out of the south. Next time, try another continent. It will blow your mind.

At least it is the right kind of flag in the South. Would much rather see a Confederate Flag all day long and never see a pride or blm.

You chose all urban areas for your vacation?

Can’t blame anyone but yourself.

FWIW, driving through Atlanta a couple years ago there were countless of the We believe ... rainbow signs in many yards, but these were confined to the inner neighborhood areas. ( not necessarily ghetto)

pride flags and BLM signs are out in full force

Was in the DC/Bethesda area recently and it was the same there, plus ton of Thank You Fauci signs in people's yards (still shocked at those). And I think they forgot to tell those folks that Covid in over b/c there were an exorbitant number of people in masks still, even while walk outdoors all alone.

And you just don't have that friendliness and hospitality that we're used to in the south.

>>flew into Hartford, CT and it was damn near a ghost town.

>I was there last week. It’s a shite hole.

It was once considered one of the most beautiful cities in America. Mark Twain chose to live there.

I wonder what happened.

I stretched my legs by walking around the capitol building. That was all I saw of Hartford while not driving. I forget if it was before or after downtown, but from the interstate it looked shitty.

But the Whalers have the goat logo in hockey history.

The whole DC/NVa metro area is filled with people living off the government teet. I'm not surprised at that at all. They believe in big government.

Get away from those areas and the people are very different, more akin to folks from Tennessee or SW Virginia. There are plenty of rednecks between Philly and Pittsburg, Confederate flags too.

The mid-Atlantic states are not the north east and all those cities have good and bad areas, but people in general are not as openly friendly as they are in the South. The area north of Boston is quite pretty and Maine is very cool, so are Quebec and the Maritime provinces.

Well, as far as I know that isn’t the state flag anymore, and whatever negative it was associated with around the Civil War was after a version was used for Texas, correct?

The ugly women thing is overrated. And you’re far more likely to find girls that are in shape compared to their whale counterparts down south.
