re: The new CDC guidelines for school kids is ridiculous

I’m pretty sure parents are more concerned with their kids education than they are with a cold
A kid missing a week of school when they aren’t sick because they sat at a lunch table with someone is ridiculous

So do you want to pay our salary or for a babysitter when you’re force us to take off work for a kid who isn’t sick?

I agree. Education during all this has been a major challenge. Don't know about your child's district but I can tell you my teachers are working tirelessly to make sure our kids stay caught up. I would love to debate this all day but I actually have state zoom meeting in 10 min to get new guidance.
Just please realize MOST districts are doing the best they can.

Im tired of this shite.
CSB, shite is getting out of hand.

I don’t know what state and or district your in, but the statement
Is not true here in Baton Rouge… my son is PERFECT example of this considering this past Tuesday (1/18/22) all this happened with my son and I refused to go get him and keep him at home for 5 days for a “possible” exposure… and he has been in school everyday since and will continue, unless he starts to show symptoms … now I do take his temp in the morning and at night and just make sure he is not showing any signs but his arse is in school having a normal day IN CLASS

First of all people need to stop testing but second people need to stop telling the school they tested positive.
This is your plan? Brilliant!

Absolutely false. My kids have never had to quarantine due to a case in their class. For the 20-21 school year they had to wear masks but if they were around a + kid for like 10 minutes without one they had to. This year all we get is an email. They don't make anyone quarantine. No masks in the school either.
This is suburbia texas.

Left your daughter alone.
What a fricking a-hole.

well, that’s just blatantly false.
quote:
maybe just adhere to the guidelines and realize they are trying to do the best they can within the guidelines they have been given to protect your child.
protect them from what? the sniffles? even during DELTA (a more severe strain), did you bother to view the CDC data for children under the age of 18? It’s practically 0 threat to them, particularly OMICRON.
quote:
But I will also tell you that if your child is in my district I'm working tirelessly with our POC, other administrators, and teachers to do the best we can by our kids every day.
which is hopefully ensuring they get a quality education instead of forcing students home over the possibility they may catch a virus that statistically is harmless for their age range. Stop buying into the hysteria around COVID and our children. It’s nonsense
BTW - you aren’t the only person on this website that is or has family in public education.

Alone? She was in the nurses office with a variety of things to keep her occupied. Books, IPad, etc.. You carry on like she was put in the hole at a maximum security prison and left to suffer in total darkness.
That tells me that you are a complete idiot.

Luckily for us - Collierville SD / this week they relaxed the rules big time...no more quarantine for close contact unless you have symptoms, no more testing to come back....haven't had mask in a while

As far as I’m aware, there hasn’t been a guideline telling people who have Covid to test negative before returning to work since like spring of 2020. You can continue to test positive for a long time.
Your company is retarded.

my work....if my kid gets sent home for exposure...i have to quarintine too for 5 days and get a negative test to return on day 5, no exceptions and if caught not reporting this....i am fired, again no exceptions. Vax or unvaxed go to a casino....10 day quaratine, on a airplane or out the country 14 days, travel over 100 miles....must let HR know....vax or unvax....if caught not reporting....discplined and 3rd time you are fired, no exceptions.
Holy shite. What the heck do you do for a living?!

I can picture you are one of those Karen’s that see someone in a store without a mask and demanding to see there vax card.
Be more worried about a child’s education and being able to get the knowledge they need to become successful, and not a little bitch that is scared of there own shadow trying to spread lies, and false statements about how school districts are forced to send your kid home when it’s absolutely not true

company policies are all over the place.
our policy, if you miss work due to being sick, you have to stay home for 5 days. doesn't matter what the illness is. if it has any "covid" symptoms. then when you return to work if you're unvaxxed you have to wear mask and avoid being close to coworkers for another 5 days.
vaxxed? you can do whatever you want.
this is actually an improvement from earlier policy which said report any posiive tests or contact and stay home for 14 days.
Failure to comply could lead to termination.

Same for me.
Now, at the beginning of the school year my kid had the sniffles and a sore throat. School asked that we keep him home until he gets a negative test. We took him to get a test that same day, got the results two days later and he was back in school. I don't blame the school for that response, it's reasonable, at least it was then.

Well then they are in danger of losing state and federal funding. That is why most districts are so adamant about following the guidelines.

Soon to be illegal:

-scrambled eggs that are anything short of being dry as a piece of paper
Until COVID, no one gave a shite about the CDC’s guidelines.

yea the whole school thing is dumb but some of us have to get tested for work.

Do you make up things because your one of those scared people that If you say a lie enough times you start to believe it yourself?
So what your telling us is your the only person with a kid in public schools on this forum?
Every statement your saying is completely false.
If you want kids out of school so bad because your scared then don’t work for the public school system and or pull your kids out of school and home school them. Don’t try and ruin our kids education because you want to send every kid home that is “possibly” exposed for 5-10 days
I do find it funny every body’s post that has 1 downvote because we are calling this person out on there lies and bs
