I can't stop the cough. It's going to get in the air and land on people. That's how it spreads. Unless you believe masks will stop that, then don't worry about it.

I have a feeling the school may be testing kids without saying anything

I may have misunderstood but a friend said their kid coughed in class, got sent to take a test & tested positive
I assumed the school tested him

To quote a note my mother wrote when in the eighth grade I got in trouble for something a number of the rest of the class did:

If you punish my child for something he did not do, your arse will be out of a job faster than a fly on fresh shite.

You would be wrong, my friend.

The biggest joke is, you have to follow the same quarantine rules after exposure whether you’re vaxxed or unvaxxed.

Thereby exposing the lunacy: why get an experimental shot which is extremely ineffective AND gets you no extra freedoms from their stupid “rules”?

It's certainly lunacy. But, you are incorrect. Up to date vaccinated don't have to quarantine due to contact.

I feel bad for parents with kids in these public schools… should be a class action to recoup property taxes wasted and fraudulently used

Listen, there isn't a majority female majority career where it isn't "hard" they always need "breaks" they're "understaffed" and ALWAYS "underpaid". Nursing and Teaching are the top two that non-stop piss and moan. They're so busy but the sure have a lot of time to sit and shop and cry on the internet. frick I'm happy to have time to get clean clothes ready for every day of the week. Women just meet STFU with that constant bullshite.

Dude I had a somewhat similar situation… first time I got him and kept him home for 5 days… but the phone call Tuesday didn’t go the same

Got a phone call to pick up my youngest son bc the person he sits next to in class (he is the one closest to him) popped up positive… they told me I got to come get him, I told the school, I’m not doing it send his arse back to class, and don’t call me or my wife unless he starts feeling bad. I sent my wife a text and said hey they boys school is prob gonna call you just don’t answer.. school calls me back again and I calmly explained to the lady unless she wanted to pay for 5 days of me missing work bc he was around some other kid that popped positive, when he is not feeling bad or showing symptoms or anything, so he can sit around the house watching TV playing Xbox and playing on his IPad then please be my guest I’ll bring some paystubs so you know what y’all are paying me.. She said “sir it’s protocol” I said protocol is send his arse back to class put him on the bus to go home and call me if he feeling bad… at which point said “thank you” and hung up on her.

Got home from work, asked my son what happened, he said “a few minutes after they got off the phone with me 3 people in the office were talking and they told me to go back to class”

Man it’s ridiculous … like you the first time I went and got him, I did the correct steps kept him home, kept a watch in him etc… no I didn’t go get him tested bc he didn’t even have a runny nose after 5 days of school missed plus the weekend… this time f that I wasn’t doing it… so Tuesday after 2 phone calls with his school, and about 45 mins total on the phone with them about this he got sent back to class took the bus home like normal, and Wednesday morning like normal he got dropped off at school at 7am for morning care and has had a normal day, and yesterday and today when I dropped him off at school, none of the teachers or people in the office have said a word to me

Where is this? My kids school isn't doing this. I get an email about possible exposure, but they just recommend we watch for symptoms. Nobody is missing school just because of exposure.

I'm in League City, TX.

Ahhh she must be unvaxxed because the vax kids get to stay.

This is true. COVID has been going around our house and my eldest son did not have to quarantine like his siblings because he was vaccinated. Against my wishes but that’s another story. Makes no sense as he doesn’t need to test or anything but yet he is just as likely to catch and spread the virus. They are using different rules that defy logic.

Remember…we’re in this together.

At least they changed it to 5 days, in August it was 10 days but yeah it’s BS. Our Parish is doing virtual right now until next Monday, hopefully for the first and last time this year.

cant test positive if you never get tested

yea the whole school thing is dumb but some of us have to get tested for work.

i have a girl i work with that had to miss 3 weeks recently. Unvaxxed, had mild symptoms for 2 days but then kept testing positive for no symptoms. she had to do nasal flushes and all kinds of other shite to finally test negative. such bullshite.

my work....if my kid gets sent home for exposure...i have to quarintine too for 5 days and get a negative test to return on day 5, no exceptions and if caught not reporting this....i am fired, again no exceptions. Vax or unvaxed

go to a casino....10 day quaratine, on a airplane or out the country 14 days, travel over 100 miles....must let HR know....vax or unvax....if caught not reporting....discplined and 3rd time you are fired, no exceptions. but atleast no vax mandate.

Ya'll are right.... we just make stuff up to make the parents miserable.
Heaven forbid we actually care for your child and try to make school a safe place.
Not to mention that public schools are FORCED to follow CDC guidelines no matter how stupid they might be. Any your school nurse, the covid POC.... you have NO IDEA how much stress is in their life right now and the last thing they need is smart-elec parents telling her how to do their job.
maybe just adhere to the guidelines and realize they are trying to do the best they can within the guidelines they have been given to protect your child.
You have no idea what the daily nightmare of trying to run a school during all this has been.
I think the guidelines are dumb. I agree. But I will also tell you that if your child is in my district I'm working tirelessly with our POC, other administrators, and teachers to do the best we can by our kids every day.
