The school called us to come pick up our daughter early today because “she had been exposed”. They then said she will have to miss 5 days and on day 5 they recommend her get a test. I asked if she was sick or showing symptoms and they said no she isn’t. So I told them then I will be there at the end of the school day to pick her up and she won’t be getting a test on day 5. Im tired of this shite.

I hope you aren't making this up. More parents need to do this.

First of all people need to stop testing but second people need to stop telling the school they tested positive.

So, she's been sitting in the nurses office all afternoon by herself.

Way to be strong.

It's bullshite, but no reason to do that to your daughter.

I get this form email from my son's high school virtually every day.

quote:

This is a courtesy notice from the LPSS.

Today we were notified that a member of our school community has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Your child/you was/were potentially exposed but was/were not in close contact with the infected individual in the classroom.

Per our protocols, anyone who is considered a ?close contact? to the infected individual has been contacted or will be contacted by the school or local health officials and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take.

We will continue to deep clean and disinfect the school to decrease the spread of the virus. As always, we will continue to monitor the situation and update you with any additional developments.

If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse or the administrator at your child's school. You can also visit our website for the latest updates and to view our COVID-19 information.

As we have shared with you in our regular family communications, we should expect positive COVID-19 cases as long as the virus is present in our community.

We will continue to operate in close collaboration with local health officials and in regular communication with our families.

Please continue to practice mitigation efforts, which include wearing face masks, practicing social distancing, heightened hand hygiene, increased cleaning and disinfection, and keep your children home when they are sick.

I continue to completely ignore them. All they do is gin up fear and provide no actual information.

Yes that poor nurse needs 5 days off now since my daughter who isn’t sick exposed her too. Oh wait if you’re a nurse these rules don’t apply.

New?

It's down from 10 days. 10 days had been the rule for a while.

Your daughter sat in the office all afternoon by the way. Sure she's gonna be upset when you pick her up.

THIS can not be said enough!

I passed a Covid testing site yesterday and there must have been 80 cars snaked around the parking lot.
