This only really works if "god" means "a particular god".

Also, the existence of gods existing, in the form used by most of humanity, is irrational and illogical by default.

Yes, the only people who find your posting off putting are people who can't debate. That definitely didn't prove my point.

So where's your proof that Occam's razor, a human philosophy, is right? Seems like you're just believing something without evidence. See how easy that is?

Your logic is flawed

Not what I said.

If you can create a straw man, it can "prove" anything you want it to.

Sfp is trans she just hasn’t figured it out yet

You can tell by how she always says a bunch of words to say something you could say in 3 words

Just like if you can have an opinion that you consider factual until someone convinces you otherwise, you can always be right.

When's the last time someone on here convinced you that your opinion was wrong?

Do you believe a Creator exists or existed?

Do you believe a higher intelligence than humans exists or existed?

If your answer depends on evidence, then tell me what that evidence left by a Creator or higher intelligence might look like, and tell me why that possibility would require evidence left behind for a human to observe?

We have artifacts of cultural folklore, and depending on which part of the world you’re in, those artifacts and folklore change. I don’t think everyone is stupid for believing, I think the ideas they believe in are stupid.

The Dead Sea scrolls confirm alot of the scripture that is translated in todays bible in the Old Testament. It's arguably the greatest archeological find ever.
Our oldest text from the bible was 953 AD until the scrolls were found which predated the Masoretic text by 1000 years which is pretty amazing

Do y’all remember that time that Kanye West baptized Marilyn Manson and Justin Beiber in the same service?

I wonder if that stuck.

My favorite part of this podcast was when Wess was showing how scholars date biblical texts through content. He was showing how different non-canon books use names uncommon to the region at the time, have incorrect distances between known locations, place animals or plant life in locations where they wouldn’t have been found at the time, or use language that wouldn’t be used until later on. I liked how he showed how one particular book used names more common to 2nd century Egypt, or how some books focused on Jesus as having or not having a physical human body. It was interesting to hear how this kind of evidence was used to support the theory that the 4 canonical gospels were written by individuals who had no shortage of knowledge of the area where the events in Jesus’s life allegedly happened, and that they were plausibly written within the lifetimes of eyewitnesses. These things don’t prove the gospels as 100% fact, but lend credence to them not being wholly manufactured centuries later.

Yea Huff is extraordinarily intelligent when it comes to the history of Christianity and it’s interesting to hear. I would like to see him do more debates for sure

It was also pointed out that the only other person on earth at that time that had 4 credible writings about their life that was factual to the degree the gospels of Matt Mark Luke and John on the life of Jesus was none other than the Roman Ceasar Tiberius..

So..a random Jewish Rabbi and the most powerful person on earth at the time

And to paraphrase Wes in the podcast "amazing that many today accept the doctrine of the virgin birth of the universe, but not the virgin birth of Jesus Christ"

"Occam’s Razor
The belief that god does not exist is much more reasonable and evidentiary than the idea that god does exist. "

There is no more evidence that God does not exist than that he does exist. Just a big assumption.

I suggest try Pachal's Wager vs Occam's Razor
