Was watching Dinner Drive with Kyle Petty on YouTube - on one of his episodes he spends the day with John Schineider out at his place in Livingston Parish. During the episode I spotted this:

I remember the $1 Broadmoor Theatre with the mean old lady at the cashier then going to the flea market close by afterwards.

We went all the time during the summer and we'd sneak in candy from 7/11. The last movie that I remember seeing there was Arachnophobia in the early 90s.

They had a 50-year lease. The lease ended a few years ago.

That's the area I grew up in during the 1980s. I don't remember that sign. Was it before that time?

It was there during the 80's when they opened the Paramount restaurant. It was on Antioch about 1/3 of a mile from Tiger Bend.

The lady was named Mrs. Kirby. The young man and woman that ran the concession stand got married. He became a state trooper. Did his time and retired.

I worked at the Baskin-Robbins near there a few times. The franchisee owned that one, the one in Denham, the one in Baker and the one at LSU near Blimpis/Murphys. He would send me around to the different locations if they needed help/guidance. My girlfriend lived in the Bellaire area during that time so I once a frequent visitor on that part of Florida Blvd.

I don't remember how much it was for tickets at Broadmoor when I went (last movie I saw there was Jingle All the Way) but I do remember the Video Game Exchange that was there. The flea market I don't remember a lot about except wasn't there a model train seller in there? I seem to recall getting some boxcars and extra track for my Lionel train set there.
I got horribly sick after eating at Pancho's one time (I think it was the damn flautas) and never ate there again.
