re: Why do people waste money on watches?

Posted by stoov on 12/31/25 at 12:40 pm to
Thing is a lot of people associate watches only with a Rolex. I got into watches a couple years ago and have 12 now but most are microbrands that are a few hundred bucks.

Cool thing about micro brands is they have unique designs and use reliable movements from other companies like ETA or Seiko.

It’s a fun hobby and yes it can get expensive but like anything else it’s up to you how much you spend.

If anyone’s having oil burning or consumption issues try Valvoline Restore & Protect. This oil is like a cheat code for engines. Relives ticking noises, cleans pistons, etc
Trust me

I’m running Stronger than a Garlic Milkshake right now and really enjoying it. It’s 3 day program and is basically mix of full body for each day (though it’s mostly upper). Usually starts with a compound like dead or squats and then goes to another like bench or bent over rows. Then supersets some shoulders and biceps and has a finisher superset arm focused.

Just finished Starter Villain by John Scazli and now reading Amos Decker book 2 series by Baldacci called The Last Mile. Memory Man was book 1 and really good

Hello? Has nobody heard of Manscaped before? They make a trimmer specifically for your balls.

re: Need a new series

Not a series but I went thru a few Crouch books. Re read Dark Matter then went to Recursion and Upgrade. Those were both really good. Recursion I liked better but Upgrade was still enjoyable.
A quick read I just finished today was Starter Villain. Hilarious and a fun quick read
Doing the Memory Man series by Baldacci on book 2 now.

re: What’s the opinion of Ram trucks?

Have a 2019 Laramie 5.7L and it’s the best truck I’ve ever owned. Interior is super comfortable and nice. Great smooth ride. Highly recommend
My neighborhood is one of the sought after neighborhoods for Halloween. We’re just an average middle class neighborhood but lots of kids and Halloween here is awesome. We get an influx of outside folks driving in packing their cars and going ham but what we’ve done over the last few years is make sure our kids go out early and get their candy fill and then we all end up running out before the main influx arrives. Seems to work well that way. Cuz I mean at some points it’s like a Chick fil A drive thru trying to get into the neighborhood. Pretty ridiculous

Jays was the GOAT back in the day. Would see him prepping when coming home from night out as a teen
Haven’t had a chance to see Acid Bath with these reunion shows and pumped they’re coming to ATL in April at the best music venue we have now The Eastern.
Tickets presale went live this am.
Early 2000s

MP79 out of Nola (changed name to Jakkmove at some point) sounded like RATM - fun dudes we used to play with all the time

Punch People as OP suggested - drummer was sick!! Played a ton with them too

Smack - recently found the old cd I had of them. Awesome band

Static- sounded like Hum - really cool band but this was late 90s and we were young they only played like American legion halls I can remember

re: Do you Believe In An Afterlife?

Posted by stoov on 9/25/25 at 8:16 pm to
As a former nonbeliever I used to think there’s no way there’s an afterlife or God fairy tale land type thing. I had a close friend and his wife pray for me when I needed it and those prayers were answered. I then started researching evidence for God and I think people are too egotistical to think we can understand and figure out everything there is to know. I don’t think our brains are able to comprehend what God really is, how He operates, and what happens to our souls and consciousness when we die amongst a million other things.
We will all die and I believe we will join God and I think it’ll be beauty and love where time does not exist or make sense. It brings me peace to think about
