Yesterday I was taking the upramp for the bridge off Magazine. As I was making the hairpin turn (slowly due to traffic), there is a skanky looking dude sitting right by the shoulder shooting up. Literally sticking a needle in his arm.

Last week there was a guy passed out and twitching violently on top of the barricade near Baronne who was not wearing any pants.

My female law partner (no pics) has within the last month seen a man masturbating, and another one taking a shite.

They stand at the light with their cardboard signs and get pretty aggressive asking you for cash. They are filthy and disgusting and scary. I can almost smell them through the glass.

I realize this is not a problem unique to New Orleans, but it has arrived. I see no end in sight. Only getting worse. LaToya will do nothing.

And as winter sets in, more of them will start moving down south.

they like paying taxes for illegals and these type of individuals.

When I run (with my shirt off) on the neutral ground on St Charles I dont worry about getting hit by a street car I just dont want to step on a needle.

So, where should they live?

Not saying, they aren’t out of control, just not sure where they would go instead.

How about they stop doing drugs and take a shower and some pride in how they look. I bet if they did that they’d find a way to not be living under the expressway

Most of them are severely mentally ill. TBH it's on the city to deal with them. Most of them couldn't take care of themselves in any situation and that's why they're homeless.

Where were they all living for time immemorial up until about 10 years ago? What changed in society, such that this is deemed okay and acceptable, to have people camping in tents all over downtown areas throughout the country?
