New Orleans/Westbank is fine. Got rain all day yesterday but just steady. Never got bad. Sucks to see what all you boys are going through. Stay safe out there!

From what I've been told its only the full time guardsmen that are already getting paid anyway. They don't have the money to activate the traditional one weekend a month guardsmen

That's a shame. Drove by there yesterday around 5 going to work. That big canal had flooded and was about to put st. George school underwater.

Stayed with my parents Thursday night. Woke up yesterday morning and it was flooding fast. Around 11, I was finally able to convince them that it was only going to get worse and to let me leave.

Dad had to help carry me through thigh-deep water to reach my car that we had parked down the street on higher ground.

This is the photo Mom sent me this morning at 6AM.

Water is now (at 8AM) up to dad's chest/nipples.

You'd have to know my parents' house to understand the severity of this, but this is the back porch. The porch itself is 3 feet off the ground. Once on the porch, there are two 1-ft steps leading into the house (the ones you see in the photo). So the water is almost at 5ft here.

Mom said the water is now inside the house. The dog food for the outside dog was ruined so the dog is upstairs with my Mom without food.
