Inlaws in Watson were evacuated from their house by boat this morning. They weren't sure where they were being brought, anyone know where evacuee's were being taken so we could go pick them up?

Reporting in from off bend road. I'm preparing myself to lose everything except my truck that I had someone pull through a flooded field.

This is an indiscribable feeling. A terrible feeling.

This is all so crazy. I was supposed to get a U Haul and go help load my parents who live back behind the Home Depot in Denham area. Wasn't expecting water until late tonight or tomorrow. Water about to go into house now.
Elderly people do the craziest shite. They paid flood insurance for 32 years and decided last year it was too expensive and cancelled it.

Is it even possible to get from BR to Watson right now? I'm seeing all sorts of closures along Hwy 16. Family is off 1019 near Bend Rd; we're trying to figure out how to get them out

Amite crest at Denham Springs revised another 2 feet upward to 46 feet. Another 5 feet! Unreal.

Just took a drive. Houses across from the Y on Perkins have about 3' of water. Houses near the creek on Staring not looking good. Saw some cars with water up to the windshield.

My condo is by Campus Federal with Dawson Creek running behind it. Luckily, it is several feet off the ground, but my brother said he just had to knock on everyone's doors this AM to get the cars moved to the higher-ground church lot next door. My back patio is 2-3ft underwater. I'm not home, obviously. My condo is the very last building in the place though.. the closest to the creek and the lowest ground.

DOTD is about to close I-12 west starting at I-55, water is covering east and west bound lanes and about to become impassable.
