Fantastic news! I agree judging from reports that the swamp was still taking water. Everyone should now have Spanish Lake Swamp as one of their favorite bodies of water now.

Agreed
I brought everything upstairs yesterday just in case and will wait until I see the Bayou and my big lake break apart from each other (they are connected in a small spot about 5 inches deep)
We are soo lucky and blessed if Bayou Fountain has stopped rising
Thank God

What are they putting there

Good question. Our Councilman hasn't been able to find out, but supposedly it's a developer with a pretty slimy reputation. If I had to guess, it will be more hastily erected shitty apartments destined for Section 8 in short order, especially if she who remains nameless is elected POTUS. She and JBE would be the perfect storm for swelling the ranks of the freeloaders.

Tabular data for the Manchac at Bayou Fountain

LINK

Manchac is reaching its peak at about 2.5 feet above what it was yesterday at this time.

It looks to be rounding off. Might reach 11 feet. Only place I would be concerned is any of the communities adjacent to the swamp and soccer fields.

Yesterday I took sunshine bridge to bypass Baton Rouge. Hwy 70 to hwy 69. Then up to la 1 to i10. Very easy. Had to go down to hwy 69 because a section of la 1 was flooded.

I'm seeing on WAFB's traffic map that Hwy. 30 is still closed from Gardere to Lee as of 7:36 this morning. Can anyone confirm?

Working this morning on a very broad scale map to explain where we are at. Hint - most of BR is in the clear! :)

Check Nicholson. It might still be closed from last night

Maybe Burbank, to bluebonnet ext, to highway 30 to I-10 would work
