Did you have a lock lug nut on each rim?
At your car doesn't have 2 feet of water inside.

No reason for all the pissy comments like this that have appeared on here. He was just saying he really went there and isn't speculating.
Not a pissy comment. Our community in the Greater Baton Rouge area has been devastated if you haven't noticed. Focusing on household task of painting, while others need basic necessities and help from others just to begin to put their entire lives together again is as selfish as you can possibly be.

if the leeve issues are true Spring Lake and Gardere may be in trouble because they are both are lower than the other subdivisions (UC / Nicholson Lakes / there is one more i cant think of) back there that have access from nicholson.

Wards creek at Siegen is 100% on the rise. At a pretty quick clip.
Burbank/Highland. Burbank side beginning to rise again.
Bluebonnet btw Burbank and Highland is still taking water esp in front of Albertson
Bayou Fountain going down all morning at Staring. Haven't seen it go up at all

Are there any signs that the water is receding? Are the rivers and creeks flowing in the right direction? Are pumps turned back on? Anything?
The news and weather channel do a terrible job of talking specifics like that. They just have sensationalist stories about escapes and stuff.
I need some science updates.
I went check Blue Bonnet @ bayou Fountain and water was flowing out. The creek in my neighborhood (Staring / Burbank) that drains into Bayou Fountain is also flowing out.

Check Nicholson. It might still be closed from last night
Maybe Burbank, to bluebonnet ext, to highway 30 to I-10 would work
Burbank is open

I'm seeing on WAFB's traffic map that Hwy. 30 is still closed from Gardere to Lee as of 7:36 this morning. Can anyone confirm?
I can't confirm, but I doubt it is open until later today

I do want to thank everyone who helped keep us informed on this thread throughout the whole process. Seeing water up to your doorstep can be a harrowing event. Thanks to all the news here I was able to adequately prepare for the worse with the house and get out. I just happen to be one of the lucky ones. Prayers to all the affected.

The Great Flood of 2016: Backflow Flooding Occuring (8/14/16) by LSUweights Update from the Lakes at Bluebonnet condos Water rose about 1 foot overnight I still see about 4 feet of green grass between our big lake and Bayou Fountain Water on both sides of Bluebonnet at Albertsons and the Burger King Hopefully we have crested!!!
That matches the crest in the manchac. I will say this, if you start to see it go down some, then it is likely receding. If not you should see it do so in the coming hours.
I will say I am in Meadowbend off Staring / Burbank and have seen a drop about 1/4" overnight. I checked the Bluebonnet / Bayou Fountain intersection and it looks like there is a decent flow heading out towards the Manchac. I think the swamps / siegan area / bluebonnet area took most of the backflow and it didnt quite make it all the way to me at staring.

Bayou Fountain at Gardere flowing the right direction at a good speed.
Interesting. Not seeing much movement in the Meadow Bend neighborhood. Actually rose a tiny bit over the last hour

I have no idea what to think about Bayou Fountain around Burbank at Bluebonnet. It sure seems to have stabilized but then on the news just now they said it might go up another 5 feet or so. Just not sure what to expect. Wish I had a crystal ball.
hoping it backs up more in the low land areas before bluebonnet and doesnt come all the way into the bluebonnet / staring area, but we will see

Checking in - Bayou Fountain gauge seems to be maxed out as well. Any updates on the bluebonnet Burbank area?
I am at Bayou Fountain and Staring and it has not going down at my house yet.

latest update on Bayou Fountain, from the Lakes at Bluebonnet condos, just south of highland on bluebonnet
Water level came up some and is level on the lowest part of our lake near the Bayou
Still have about 3-5 feet from it getting into the lake, then another 3-5 feet from it getting over the other part of the lake
Any idea when this water will crest?
I live right off Bayou Fountain in Meadow Bend (Staring and Burbank). Water hasnt gone up or down in the past 2 hours. Hoping it doesnt creep much higher, or I may be in trouble
