Looking to purchase suite or large group (14) tickets for LSU v. Ole Miss
Posted by steltzequalsbeast on 7/2/24 at 12:34 pm
A family member is coming into town for his 40th birthday and his bucket list item is a night game in Tiger Stadium. He is bringing family and friends down to tailgate and go to the game. Trying to figure out the best way to get the whole group together for the game. Any help or offers to get as much of the group together as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Really cold we can deal with. Really cold and nothing open with impassable roads is not ideal.
Memphis--This Weekend
Posted by steltzequalsbeast on 2/11/21 at 10:03 am
Have a Memphis trip planned for this weekend but with the winter storm it seems like this might not be the best idea at the moment. Anyone have a feel for what things may be closed this weekend? Is it going to be hellacious to get around the city? Just not sure if Memphis is like New Orleans and shuts down when a snow flurry hits the ground (I hope not). Any information would be greatly appreciated.
re: Thailand Trip--Recs, places/things to avoid?

I did a really bad job following-up on this, but I really do appreciate the responses. I am 32 but the girlfriend and I have spurts were we party like we are in our mid to late 20's so definitely have interest there. Phi Phi seems right up our alley for sure and the full moon party would be great if we are there at the right time.
I've seen a good bit of anti-Phuket talk and was just curious why people are so down on it.
Thanks again for the responses and any other info y'all have is greatly appreciated.

Thailand Trip--Recs, places/things to avoid?

Going to Thailand. Leave end of December and will be there until January 10th. Flying into Bangkok and trying to plan an itinerary. Eyeing Phuket and Chiang Mai as possible destinations. Any help, suggestions, or insights on things to do or things/places to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Any recommendations for pubs/restaurants/things to do in Galway? Think we'll be there for two days and likely be there for St. Paddy's day. Thanks in advance for any insight.

That's a fair question. We are debating within our group whether to stay in Dublin or go to a less tourist-based city for the actual day. Just trying to get as much feedback as we can at this point to make the call.
Dublin for St. Patrick's Day
Posted by steltzequalsbeast on 12/9/17 at 11:42 am
Going out to Ireland for the St. Patrick's Day Festival in 2018. Tickets are already booked for the plane flight. Trying to get rolling on the hotel accomodations, etc.
Just wanted to see if any of this group had prior experience with planning a trip to Ireland and in particular how to navigate the St. Patrick's Day crowds. Any recommendations and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

re: Will flights take of from MSY tomorrow morning?

Just tough because by the time I could drive to Houston, the center of the storm would be right in that path. Definitely hoping this thing speeds up.

I've got a flight flying out of MSY on Thursday morning that has a layover in houston before heading to its final destination. Feel like I'm stuck between a rock and hard place on this one. Any idea if flights will be grounded on Thursday? Is it worth the risk of driving closer to the storm's center to try and get to Houston to get on the connecting flight? Or, am I just screwed?

Is there an LSU alumni bar in Boston? LSU-Auburn that weekend, definitely want to find somewhere to watch the game.

Definitely not rocket science. Just trying to supplement the regular googling and yelp review process by coming here for suggestions. If I get at least one solid suggestion, it will be worth it.

This is awesome already.
To address some questions, for the record, it is not my bachelor party. I'm just in the wedding and trying to make the most of the trip. Boston....because Boston. I don't know. We'll probably just drink whiskey and bar hop for the majority of the trip, but I was just trying to find some suggestions.

Shameless request for assistance because the google machine can be misleading.
Got a three day bachelor party going to Boston in a couple weeks. 7 guys in total. Sox are out of town, so that's out of the question. Open for all suggestions from anyone who has been there before or live up in that area. Thanks in advance for any help or insults you can provide.

In-laws live in the neighborhood between millerville and old Hammond right across from the Winn-Dixie on Old Hammond. Does anyone have news about whether the water has receded in that area? Any help would be appreciated because I know my father-in-law will be trying to go back there no matter what today.

Neighbor's is your best bet in terms of no hidden fees and overall customer service. Their business loan department is also top notch. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much. Now I'm a little disappointed that it's not Arrieta, but I'll take what I can get. Better than a spending the day at work.

Bookboard-- Audiobooks
Posted by steltzequalsbeast on 2/3/15 at 9:09 pm
I am currently commuting an hour-a-day from Madisonville to New Orleans for work. I am getting back on an audiobook kick and want to know if the quality folks on the M/TV Board can help me out.
For starters, I recently listened to The Martian and really enjoyed it. For book taste purposes, I've read all of ASOIAF, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dark Tower, and also enjoy some good history non-fiction (ala Band of Brothers). I've also read a good portion of Crichton's books. Just looking for some solid recs, specifically ones that are done well on audiobook.
