1. My first issue is the recipe I'm using says it feeds 6 as a main dish and I'm feeding 10. Half are women so I don't really feel the need to double the recipe, but I'd like to bump it by around 1/2.
I'd double it to be safe. I cooked one at thanksgiving for family (it was around 13 people) and a double batch was just enough for that many. Worst case scenario you'll have extra for leftovers.

Is this as simple as increasing each ingredient by 50%? What about the roux? It calls for 1/2 c flour and 1/2 c oil when making the roux, so can I simply bump it to 3/4 c for both? How about the chicken? Maybe get some thighs along with a whole chicken?
In my experience, yes - doubling every ingredient will work... except for the roux. The amount of roux doesn't seem to be a linear ingredient to me - but someone correct me if I'm wrong. I usually do 3/4 cup flour / oil for a single batch (6 cups), and maybe 1-1/4 cup for a double batch. You can always make more roux and add at any point if its not thick enough.
Have some fresh chopped parsley to sprinkle over the top. And find some good french bread.

This may be the thing that will help you the most. By creating a budget and keeping up with it daily, you will always know what is in your accounts, and you will start to see 2,3,4 paychecks ahead.
First and foremost, like others have said, its about changing your mindset.
I went the Dave Ramsey route and it has helped tremendously. I don't follow it religiously but I have done most of the steps (creating a budget, debt snowball, emergency fund). The thing that helped me the most is creating a monthly budget spreadsheet. If you keep up with it, it FORCES you to look at your expenses everyday.
It will probably take 4-6 months for you to really get the hang of it, but once you do it will change how you spend your money. After 4-6 months you start to get excited about completing a balanced budget every month and starting on the next month's.

What is the story with Jenkins - what is his injury and when will he be able to return?

Seems like a bad idea to me.
You are reducing the cavity wall depth (should be minimum 1"), thereby reducing the ability of the air space to ventilate and drain any moisture. Second, the general idea of any sheathing / weather barrier is to form a continuous barrier to guard against moisture. Having a seam every 16" (even if it is sealed with foam) is asking for leaks to occur.
But I have had a contractor tell me this method was used in houses that were flooded in Katrina.

I assume you mean a LTV ratio of 90%?
Yes - 90%, my bad.
Cool, definitely going to look into this within the next year. Thanks.

I also have a mortgage thru Wells Fargo. My current LTV ratio is only at about 10%. Does this mean that I can have my house reappraised and if it has appreciated enough to push my LTV ratio up to 20% - they will honor that reappraisal number when considering the removal of PMI (rather than the original loan amount)?
I've only been in the house 4 years but we have done a little work to it and property values are way up since then.
Also, do you have to get an appraisal thru the lender?

I miss Molto Mario, Rachel Ray, Good Eats...
I watch Vice's Munchies shows now, Mario Batali has recently started a new show on their network.

I still don't understand how that ball got past Auburn's DB.

Whatever you get, don't but those sonic spikes. They do not work.
I'm seeing on WAFB's traffic map that Hwy. 30 is still closed from Gardere to Lee as of 7:36 this morning. Can anyone confirm?
Sorry i know this has been asked a couple times recently, but just want to confirm... Hwy. 30 is save to drive to get around the interstate closure - correct?

Was coming to ask the same thing. My wife is trying to get to the airport from BR this morning. Is Hwy 30 safe to traverse? Saw on the news it was taking some water last night but can't find anything about it being closed.

I live a block from there and didn't hear about this either. Was it 6:30 am or pm?

Everyone on the team, other than Blakeny, looks uninterested.
Yep, Josh is one of the most important pieces to this team. He has cut down on turnovers and is a good defender. We are lucky to have him as a backup pg.
