This may be a dumb question, but here goes. According to online resources, I-10 elevation at that point is 19.6. To me that means that Bayou Manchac would be around 21.5-22 feet deep, which makes perfect sense since the crest at the Amite is supposed to 21.5 or so. I'm close to the area, but on the high side of Bluff sitting at 30 feet. Does that mean that Bayou Manchac would have to go up an additional 7 feet or so for me to have water in my home, or are there other variables I'm missing.
Ive been trying to say this for awhile now. It doesnt make sense that if the water at I-10 and manchac doesn't increase by a magnitude of feet that any of these horrible predictions will come true. Water cant flow to a higher elevation unless it gets higher at the point that is already lower.

You found your parents?
Yes I talked to my sister earlier (finally). They were still at my aunt and uncle's house and were still safe there. Thanks for asking.

This is the street behind Lakeside Bar from today. If that backflow hits all the apartments back there take water and no more crown and coke daiquiris for a while
Edit: sorry for bad link, not sure how to fix it

still, they provided additional local numbers because people couldn't get through to 911.. even before the outage.
Resources wasted to check on people who may have already been rescued.
I just hope over the next few days we don't find people who were unable to make it out.
Really a testament to everyone involved we don't have a huge number of deaths here.

Any recent updates on bluebonnet and Burbank?
Posted on 8/14/16 at 11:59 pm to TulaneUVA
About to call it a night and get some sleep. Hope to wake up to a dry neighborhood. Will wait for the latest report on Burbank and Bluebonnet. I am starting to think we dodged the worst but I know that can change so quickly.
