I am about to go check out Burbank and Bluebonnet
Please do! Still a little concerned about Springlake/Fairhill areas.

I already have my masters in a statistics related field and do lots of statistical modeling for companies in the area :)
Then you should have access to HPC clusters and data scientists and whatever else you/we need to develop capabilities (applied) for both industry and government. There are ongoing statistical modeling projects on everything from virus transmission to biological forensics to chemical process intensification across multiple agencies, and one of our best modeling partners is currently working on novel capabilities for the Dept of Defense and several S&T directorates. If any of that is of interest, we should chat.

Water is stable up here on Highland but will be interesting see your report, given that area is a good bit lower.

Sorry. Didn't mean to drama queen it up in here. I'm sad but as I listen to my three year old literally snore and occasionally fart on me, I'm reminded that I have everything I need.
Oh man the feels. With my son, and now my beautiful little baby girl I realize this everyday.

As per scanner, this area is flooding. Backflow is definitely occurring. They are going to close Nicholson between Ben Hurr and Innovation.

That still hasn't translated to any significant rises in my area this evening. Was a bit nervous earlier today but I'm about ready to call this house all clear.
what area/neighborhood?
Posted on 8/14/16 at 11:46 pm to LSU Tigershark
Older section of azalea lakes is flooded. Newer section is still dry. Newer area is built on a mound.

A lot of it is. I do neural nets, decision trees, etc. as well as traditional logistic techniques. My work is currently being used to predict which students are at risk of dropping out at LSU, which prisoners can safely be released at the DOC (well, it is about to be used there, been working on that project), who to recruit for success, which financial brokers to invite to your investment firm, and a few other things.

This person also thinks the federal government "owes them" for damages because they didn't think they needed flood insurance
Get this kind of shite out of here. You may not be wrong, but if that's all you're going to contribute start your own thread.

Went by bluenbonnet and burbank 2 hours ago and the north side of burbank near albertsons, firestone, and walgreens was getting water in the low spots of their parking lots. The soccer fields were completely flooded. Water was still about 5 feet from road on the south side of burbank. Springlake and fair hill seemed to be okay for now.
