I had reports that points in the Claycut watershed were still creeping up around 8:00pm

I would think that points below are still going to rise.

I'm not sure it's a breach. Every time the word breach has been used it has actually been topping the levees and roads. Not breaching

This is very true. Likely just overtopping.

TD gets news faster than almost every news outlet. There's always a thread on TD before its reported.

Hopefully so. You'd think the parish president would have more information to give.

Really?

I mean it's not that shocking. Jones creek should be going down (and people have reported that it is), but that's a long time to be creeping up.

But when you think about it, the crest takes a while to decrease.

High tide in Lake Maurepas/Ponchartrain was at 5:45 PM, low tide is 4:45 AM tomorrow so the tide is going out, reducing the overall resistance to outflow through the Amite River basin. This will help.

The winds out of the Southeast won't be helping, however.

If anyone is trying to get into Shenandoah, go down Coursey then get into the Broadmoor subdivision before Jones Creek and follow along those roads past the Jones Creek library to cross Jones Creek. No other way that I could find.

Best way to get into Shenandoah is through the old front entrance across the street from the Jones Creek library. If you have a truck or higher vehicle, you can go down Old Jefferson from Airline, veer into Tiger Bend and hand a left into Woodlawn subdivision. Then get to Shenandoah Ave and take it into the neighborhood. There is some standing water on Old Jefferson and Tiger Bend but it's passable in a higher vehicle. Just don't try to cross Jones Creek on Tiger Bend, that's where it gets way too deep.

highlight 3 interesting time periods:

1) Where Manchac crosses Airline/I-10 (its actually slightly NW of that). At around 2:00 PM today, the area took on water and started overfilling its banks.

2) Where Bayou Fountain, feeding into Manchac, started flooding over Siegen at Highland. This occurred today around 6:00 PM.

3) Where this current report comes in at. We had reports of some of the Burbank area flooding at 7:00 PM and this report is at 10:00 PM

Will Highlandia be in danger, or is it good?

Here:

"They include the neighborhoods surrounding Bayou Manchac, Bayou Fountain, and Ward's Creek. It is possible residents in those areas could see a slight drop in water levels Sunday, but backflow from the Amite could force the water to rise later in the evening and through Monday morning. "

Definitely just overtopping. Not a breach. Friend posted a video on interact am earlier of water flowing over the road at alligator bayou.

LP just put out a notice that all traffic in the Parish will be relegated to emergency personnel only from now until the all clear is given.

So.. What? They ticket me if I try to find a way to go to my dad's house to help clean up or the Vet clinic to check on the boarding animals?

From who?

NOAA has the level of Claycut at Antioch leveled off for over three hours.
