The Great Flood of 2016: Backflow Flooding Occuring (8/14/16) by BigEdLSU
Where is this bayou manchac road?

It runs along bayou Manchac in Iberville parish. Very windy. You get their from bluff road in Ascension. Actually very scenic and people ride bikes out there.

Manchac has risen so high it's from blue bayou to bluff rd almost

This is simply not accurate.

Bayou Manchac water hasn't reached entrance of Manchac Plantation...Nowhere near Bluff Rd.

Where did you get that info?

Can anybody shed some light on the Galvez area. I left with the pregnant stepdaughter, her husband, my 1 year old grandson and 2 dogs at 4pm and am now in Laplace in a hotel. Hwy 930 Sumerlyn subdivision. Close to Prairieville middle school. Thanks

I think Sumerlyn is ok. The other side of 42 is worse off

Ward Creek is FAR from flooding right now but it is mentioned in the back flow threat. We haven't ever really talked about it. Anyway, just thought I'd point out that both gauges have been on the rise.

That's a good route so long as you don't try to enter Hickory Ridge from Tiger Bend. It's very deep there and I saw several cars stalled in the water today.

I have made the trip from Jefferson highway to Shenandoah to White Oak Landing six times in the last two days.

So.. What? They ticket me if I try to find a way to go to my dad's house to help clean up or the Vet clinic to check on the boarding animals?

Wait so y'all still have people's animals stuck boarded there?? What was the response if people went to evacuate yesterday before shite really hit the fan?

I live in the apartments down the street and it isn't pretty.

No, Oak Terrace is a subdivision near you, off of Burnside (Hwy 44).

Is it expected that we may see backflow into Bayou Duplantier and Dawson Creek as Ward Creek rises? Are there flood gauges on those creeks? (We are in South Pollard backing up to Christian Life).
