I have a '19 WRX. It's a great car, but if you force me to pick nits I'll admit it's not a very easy car to drive. The rev hang going into second is the main culprit. Also, the car comes with summer tires, which will give some people pause, and it's kind of a gas-guzzler.

I don't really care about any of that stuff. The 2015+ WRX is almost certainly the best-looking car Subaru has ever made, and it's fast. The Android Auto support is also really good. I always said I wasn't into that kind of crap, but now that I have it I think it's incredible.

Buy him a used car/truck less than $10K for his first vehicle. Preferably one that breaks down often so he can learn how to perform basic auto repairs. I've saved so much money in the past thirty years simply because I know how to work on my own vehicles.

The only Lexus ES I've ever driven was the most disappointingly boring ride I've ever experienced.

It seems like you are looking for luxury brands but I just had to have a rental car, and the Nissan Sentra pleasantly surprised me. Granted, I'd get the upgraded packages if I were buying one for myself, but I'd have to imagine you may get a fully loaded one for around 25k (I haven't priced them).

I'm not committed to luxury. Looking for a balance on non-douchiness, quality, and fun-ness. If the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord are sporty enough, I'd have no issue picking one of those.

Very interesting, as well as the Kia Stinger...

You own one? Been in one?

Bump your budget to 50k, much better options.

Personal recommendations: 2020 Ford Explorer ST, we’re around 25k miles and still love everything about it.

I'd add the Kia Telluride. They making some good cars these days. Used to be junk. Got their shite together. Get the tow package tho.

You may want to check out the Accord coupe.

Miles or money?

First driver, hell no I'm not spending any kind of scratch. They'll just wreck it or someone's gonna hit in the school parking lot.

I'd recommend something like a used Nissan Sentra. Can pick up a late model, low mileage car, 2017-2019 possibly, for under $15k all day long, often closer to $11-$12k. Slight step up for an Altima. We've had several in the family and they're great cars. Economical. Well made.

Close second would be a Honda Civic.

Toyota or Honda, how is this even a question? You list two Dodges in the same post as "best?" WTF?

HAHA. Some of yall mofos either can't read or just choose not to.

This car is not for my kid. He'll drive the 100k mile truck to school and practice. I'll be driving whatever car this is.
