I'm on the advisory board at one university and involved in recruiting students at a couple of others. All of these universities have expressed concerns about lower enrollments now and more expected in the future.

Additionally, I just saw an article from a large accounting firm saying the same thing.

You operators better watch out, the youngins are coming for your arse.

There's going to be so many millionaires with all the new plumbers out there. I've been told in good authority they make $500k MINIMUM by 25

Good. Maybe this will force a market correction relating to costs to attend.

Yep, from what I have read. It seems men make up that difference, especially white males being the biggest decrease.

This explains so much about why you are the Way You are! You are one of those people who believe that a university education automatically entitles you to a higher position in in life...

I have a master's degree, and I'm on a business advisory board for a community college. Doesn't make me some authority on anything, but it does make me realize the future is bright for our students!

Personally I think it's a good thing that AIU applications are down, Mingo

I love it when people with desk jobs tell me how I should be a Plummer or manual labor instead of college.

You sound concerned about your position in the future.

Stop over charging for useless degrees and the numbers might go back up. Nobody wants to go in serious debt to get a Liberal Arts degree and work at a Starbucks making $8.50/hour when they can go in less debt to get a trade certification and make a pretty good living.

Can you blame kids and families for not wanting to pay the ever increasing cost of college for them to have to sit home and learn online. i.e. COVID pandemic.

They were paying the same amount for the college experience with no college experience.

They'll probably just increase price if enrollments stay down. It's all government cheese anyway.

Universities are a cartel and scam now with all the fees and outrageous "we'll make them pay a fortune" in tuition fees. Very bloated. Very bloated with all the people on all the boards.

The US needs more skilled tradesman.

Better to go that route than getting a shitty degree and being in debt for 10 years
