MADD, SADD, and other anti drinking programs finally getting the message out.

I realized at a young age that drinking was not for me and the cost and shame of a DWI was not worth it.

Wow. An aggressive binge drinker.

And I don't drink at all so there it is.

I think it is less about that and more about these kids sat at home during covid. In our area they also had Ida to contend with. Their social upbringing is way different from what most of us experienced. I am starting to see them come through at work and it is like a home school kid that never left the house

This is a good thing, no one should be drinking and driving. Or texting and driving. Or looking at tiktok while driving, etc..

Good. Then maybe the big distillers will revert back to where they once started-------------with a couple stills hidden in the backwoods of Kentucky selling their product in quart Mason jars.

Oh, and I find it hard to believe they have lost $830 BILLION with a B in the last 4 years.

The loss is market cap, not money. They are still making billions in profits in 4 years.

Another factor is Mounjaro and all of the semaglutides lessen your appetite for alcohol as well as food.

I don't think it's because of costs. I think it's because these young people don't know how to socialize with other people

I lost any desire to drink years ago. It just doesn’t sound appealing at all

Drinking is a social activity and Gen Z is anti-social.

it's a lot of things but that's the biggest one

cost is definitely a big one too. it's still affordable to have some beer or wine at home but kids can't really go out on the town and get hammered, maybe do some drugs, and eat a late nite meal for like $50 anymore. i'm thankful that i'm just old enough to have experienced this

another thing is staying in is just a lot less unappealing than just 10-15 years with steaming movies & shows
