This is why the alcohol industry paid politicians to make delta 8 illegal at the end of this year.

They were about to get much smaller. After the government stops their competition alcohol consumption will go back up and America will become less healthy.

I wonder how much is due to the rise of pot. Not saying that's bad I just wonder if that's a big part of it.

Much larger than anyone is letting on, which is why we are seeing pushback now against the legalization of marijuana from even left-leaning sources.

Sure, let's take away anything pleasurable in life.

I’m still enjoying a couple Old Fashioned’s Fri, Sat, & Sunday with a nice cigar. No more, no less…

It’s because of social media. Biggest focus is getting likes. I’m sure there’s other factors.

What do you consider an "old fashioned?"

I plan to single-handedly reverse this trend at Mullet Toss in a few weeks.

When you can pop a Delta 9 gummy, get a better buzz, sleep better, wake up refreshed/no hangover all for $1, why drink?

Unfortunately I didn’t contribute to the decline as I have kept my alcohol intake way above what I should have.

I was a daily drinker for 10+ years. The past few years I'll have a couple on the weekends. You don't realize how shitty you feel when drinking v everyday until you stop

One of the few things I can credit the younger generation with. Alcohol should be phased out.

What years are Gen Z?

I know quite a few ~25 year olds from work and they drink and smoke a lot.

Yep.

Some of us can control our drugs. We have a bourbon drink every night. Maybe two on Fri and Sat night. Every now and then we might smoke some weed or take a gummy. And if we overdo it, we're not assholes like the rest of you. Don't need a religion, don't make it a religion.

Not really that difficult to understand.

I have faith people will turn to better weed before they start abusing alcohol

About the same. Never been a big drink. Anything in moderation is okay.
