He’s as crooked as they come.
Makes sense that he’s in bed with Silver Eagle. It’s funny that the ridiculous laws restricting microbreweries and home brewers were amended when AB InBev decided they wanted to purchase Karbach.

I'm confident that can be accomplished, as I've known people to get OWIs/DWIs from prescription medication. But that's all. Just can't get behind a heavy piece of machinery endangering other lives.
nor can I

Cannabis (THC) has a much shorter half life in the bloodstream and your brain has specific receptors that do one thing and one thing only…bind with cannabinoids. Alcohol on the other hand is a systemic depressant…it interferes with the way your brain does business. And no I would never drive while high…that would be idiotic. After several hours I was sober again.

and also, think about the process of getting drunk or catching an alcohol buzz…you drink one beer, then another, then another and eventually you get drunk. All that alcohol has to be slowly processed thru your blood, tissues and liver and you sober up as slowly as you got drunk. THC immediately binds with its receptors, you get the effect, and it tapers off. Nothing has to be cleaned from your body in order to regain dexterity

Why do we need to have alcohol or drugs anyway? Such a waste of the precious time we have on this earth. So many more productive and healthy ways to live your life.

I went to work Saturday morning and watched a drunk driver leave a bar, turn right, then ignore a stop sign and drive directly into the trees and woods in front of him.

Arrested him for DWI and tow truck had to get the car out.

“A ban is the only way to truly protect kids from accessing these products,” Patrick said. “We have age limits on alcohol and cigarettes, but we know that does not stop kids from getting them either. The difference here is that one highly potent THC product can cause irreversible damage to a young person’s mind forever.”

Dan Patrick is garbage, and no doubt part of the reason I can't buy a bottle of bourbon or tequila in Texas on a Sunday.

Hold on there, the liquor industry also lobbies against the sale of booze on Sundays. This happened in Georgia when I lived there. IIRC, we couldn't even buy beer on a Sunday. Retailers didn't want to sell alcohol on Sundays to avoid the staffing costs. Everyone just buys more on Saturdays just in case, so the retail industry (Green Liquor in ATL) figured they'd sell the same amount of product without the annoyance of paying staff.

At least Patrick didn't seem to bitch when Abbott let us buy beer earlier on Sundays in TX. No more dudes standing around with beer in their cart at 11:57AM on Sundays at H-E-B.

Patrick is a dolt. Abbott vetoed his dumbass bill because it would have faced legal challenges. He then instructed him to put together something similar to his executive order in a special session, and Patrick comes back with an identical bill. I think Patrick may have some valid points in that there’s not enough education on the effects and risks on thc, but you can address that without just banning everything.

Several years ago the wife and I went meet a bunch of friends in California for a vineyard trip. We got there a day early to have some time to ourselves and stayed in Sacramento. We went into one of those edible places and bought a bunch of shite.

So she and I are sitting at a table in the hotel bar, and she keeps asking me, "Do you think the people here know we're high?" She was genuinely worried about that. And of course, I found the whole ordeal much funnier than it really was.

But to your point, she's never asked me, "Do you think the people here know we're drunk?" And you're right. I've been obnoxious when drunk, so has she. But obnoxious when high after eating one of those peppermint patties....never. Just relaxed and laughing at dumb shite.

I was on a Colorado trip with my parents in 2019, and the first part of our trip we stayed in Grand Junction. One day we went to Palisade aka the Napa Valley of Colorado and hit up some wineries. We stopped by a dispensary first and got some edibles because my parents had never been to a legal state, and they never had eaten edibles before.

We were pretty careless about the dosage of the edibles, and ended up eating many more mgs than we should have. We were all quite zooted by the time we got to the first winery.

Now, my dad is a blue collar Alabama man born and bred, his drink of choice is natty light, so he wasn't in his element at all. He's about as far removed from wine or winery culture as you can possibly get.

However, when we were sampling the wine, he for some reason looked like he was really into it. Sniffing it, swirling it, checkin the legs, etc. This sent my mom and I into an involuntarily, stoned geek out. We couldn't stop dying laughing for about 5 minutes, tears running down our face. The sommelier probably thought that we were absolute idiots, but we just could not help it. Idk if he was just acting silly because he was stoned and trying to make us laugh, or if he was actually really into it. One of the funniest moments I've ever had with my parents.

Not likely seeing as how he's a stooge of the alcohol lobby.

Yeah…now instead we stand around with it in our cart at 9:57AM.

I remember shortly after we moved here from Louisiana, I went to HEB after an early morning Mass to get some stuff for boiling either crawfish or crabs for lunch. I was putting a couple 12 packs in my cart, and one of the employees told me “Sir, we can’t sell you beer till Noon.”

I had actually known that prior, but was just having a brain fart that morning. Poor girl, I replied back to her, “It’s ok, though. I already went to Mass.”, thinking I was making a funny, but she just looked at me all confused.

Good ole liquor lobby Dan. Dude wakes up every day looking like an old lesbian and trying to figure out ways to stop people from having fun or freedom.

My buddies wife just gave him a single gummy. It's 256mg. Came from california. I guess recreational weed there is legal for horses as well since thats about what it must take to consume that thing.

And yeah. TX Republicans won’t say it out loud but everyone here who interacts with him personally has nothing good to say. Same thing with Ken Paxton.

To be clear, this has nothing to do with anyone’s politics.

Did anyone ask Dan how Texan kids were smoking weed prior to the 2018 farm bill? Pretty sure the shite was banned then, dumbfrick.
