Sold out. Plenty of flour and crisco, though.

Son, I can make a damn fire and I have my choice of a legit Dutch oven, a 200 year old spider skillet with a Dutch oven lid, or a camp oven. You ain't dealing with a damn rookie, baw.
ETA: My bad....I channeled my Pops there for a minute. But one thing is for certain, I won't go hungry in a situation like that.
ETAagain: I also have a percolator coffee pot and a cowboy coffee pot. And a Coleman camp stove.

I cook outside just for shits and giggles a good bit, not talking about camping. I've got a makeshift firepit at the moment, but I'm going to build a permanent cooking fireplace before long.
Growing up we had an ice storm in the 90s that killed power for a few days. At that time we still burned wood for heat (I'm not old by any means, either). I can remember my grandmother who lived next door staying with us because she had electric heat. She didn't miss a beat. She cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner on that wood heater. It was a big one, but not a cookstove. When my folks finally got rid of it in favor of propane it took four of us to load it, and it was still a struggle.
Last year the guy who bought it told me that if I ever want it back he has it in storage and will sell it back to me for the same price he paid, but I will have to bring help to load it.

Samaritan’s Purse has purchased a building here that they’re going to turn into a regional hub. They’re also gonna spend $5 million to start rebuilding homes here.
They’ve torn down a lot of buildings and homes here. Two 100 year old churches have been cleared out and hauled off. Downtown is pretty desolate. You can see blocks gone. A lot of money and help coming in.
I don’t know how bad this ice storm will be. Kentucky had a big one in January 2009 were over 1/2 the state was without power. With the electrical crews still in town since the tornado, don’t see power as a major problem. A lot of people have bought generators since.

Williamson county represent. Let's get this show on the road. I lost internet for a half hour already.

They're good folks. They're the type I was talking about when I suggested doing your research and donating to the groups that will be there when the news turned to the next story. They, along with others, are there for the long haul. Their mission doesn't end when the cameras pack up.
Here's to hoping you folks keep working together. It is a long, hard road to rebuild and get your neighbors back on their feet. Things won't ever be the "same" again around those towns, but they can at least get back to some semblance of normal. When that happens you're town will be all the stronger for it.
