IT'S JUST A PRANK, BRO

You would have to be an absolute moron that eats paint chips to think throwing damn eggs or any other kind of object at cars in moving traffic is safe, harmless, let alone morally acceptable as a "prank".
If me or my siblings tried something like this when we were teenagers, my Dad would've gone scorched Earth on us doing everything from whipping us, to grounding us for months to a year, to the nuclear option of sending us to boot camp. Likely some combo of that would happen.
Put the driver in prison for 20 years and put the rest in juvie for as long as its legally possible to hold them there.

Oh no, there’s some on here that believe that the fault lies with the guy that got pissed when they threw eggs at him.
We have a society that simply does not believe in personal responsibility anymore. It’s always somebody else’s fault and somebody else’s problem.

It's a pretty severe over-reaction with deadly consequences. You can think the teens are shite heads and not take any shite headiness away from their actions, but also realize they would not be driving at high speeds if a guy isn't chasing them with a gun (if this is true). There is certainly fault on both sides, but there is still a lot of fault on the chaser.
I'm all for carrying, but it comes with responsibility. First thing they teach you in concealed carry class is dont pull out your gun unless you intend to use it. It raises the stakes immediately. That's what this guy supposedly did (again may not be true, but that's the narrative I'm responding to) and it raised the immature a-hole prank to a deadly level.

They weren't just shite heads here. They put innocent lives in danger with an absolutely reckless act of throwing solid objects at 5,000 pound missiles moving in traffic.
There's also the fact that they were illegally driving an automobile with anything so much as a permit and/or an adult present.
That's the reason why the 14 year old is being charged with murder as it happened during the commission of a crime IE driving without a license and running a red light.
They're criminals that belongs in jail.

they would not be driving at high speeds if they respected that they were not authorized to drive an automobile.
FIFY.

Then when why aren't the cops arresting him even though he didn't shoot anybody and didn't make any attempt to do so?

The immature a-hole prank was already at a deadly level from the get go moment these teenagers drove off with the car and threw eggs in traffic.
They need to go to jail.

dumb kids and their parents pay for their actions

It's "Acadia," not "Arcadia," but I digress. Stupid prank went wrong.

Parents are responsible for monitoring their kids activities and making sure they don't do stupid and illegal acts.

Maybe if the parents let them take the car,
No.
They can't let them do anything with an automobile if they don't have license or even a simple leaners permit.
quote:
teens will be teens
No.
They're old enough to know better that they were not allowed to drive a car by themselves and throwing solid objects at 5,000 pound missiles in moving traffic is dangerous and stupid.
quote:

Yes there is.
They can make sure the car is locked up in a secure garage and the keys are not accessible to them.

quote:That is bullshite too. If that were true then no kids would ever get into trouble ever. I grew up with many kids who had great parents but just wanted to push the limits as teens and would let peer pressure win out causing them to do stupid (sometimes illegal) things. I don't see how you blame the parents, unless you expect them to have the kid chained up to them 24/7 until they are 18??

Hmmmm. Sounds like this is the guy who should be charged with murder.
The kids were doing stupid pranks, but nobody got hurt...
Then this guy brandished a gun at the kids and started chasing them.
At that point the kids were legitimately in fear for their lives and quite justified driving at high speeds to get away from the homicidal maniac chasing them!
This. Kids throwing eggs at cars is not a legitimate reason to brandish a handgun and engage in a high-speed pursuit. This guy will be charged with something before it's all said-and-done.

I never personally did anything to damage property but was around it all the time. Small town nothing to do excuses. Maybe because I’m a dad now of teenagers I think the kids don’t deserve life like the majority of y’all. Punish them for sure, jail time but 25-35 years will only serve to institutionalize them not redirect them to return to society. The justice system we have isn’t made to parent and mold kids into normal law abiding citizens. It’s designed to punish.
