The amount of people in this thread coming up with excuses for The jackass with the gun who chased a bunch of teenagers down, causing a fatal wreck because his car got hit by an egg, is honestly rather scary.
Can you show Scruffy where it states that this definitively happened and isn’t just “alleged” to have happened?

Why do you believe the word of the dumbasses who were already on the road underage and throwing eggs at cars?

Yes, it is alleged he brandished a pistol

Please show me where it has already been proven in court the dumbasses were throwing eggs? I'd say they were allegedly throwing eggs

It’s alleged.

the guy who was on the roads legally and driving safely.

Yet he wasn't driving safely after the egg incident. He was taking part in a high speed chase, exacerbating the situation greatly.

guy would not have pulled his gun had the kids not been throwing eggs at cars on the road

Again, severe overreaction. You are not justified in pulling a gun, therefore this point is invalid. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Quick question, do you really think the kids were driving safely while throwing eggs at vehicles on the road? Do you really think that even them throwing eggs at vehicles on the road is a safe act?

No, it's definitely not a safe act. But again, it does not give a free ticket to do another unsafe act. The egg throwing didn't directly lead to the accident that took the life, the high speed driving due to the chase did. So one could argue what the driver did was more unsafe.

A speeding driver weaving in and out of traffic is very unsafe, but it doesn't make it a good idea to chase him down to let him know it and show him who's boss. It would only escalate the situation.

quote:

the fault is with them and they should be the only ones charged period.

This is an emotional and completely illogical response to the situation. They are definitely, without a doubt, partially responsible. But the driver is as well.

Fine.

Let’s take all of the alleged info out.

We are left with a 14 year old illegally driving a car and killing a woman.

Scruffy doesn’t trust the word of someone who is that stupid.

yet still the blame does not and should not go on the guy who was on the roads legally and driving safely

In your mind, is it legal and safe to point a gun at another driver and chase them when they speed away?

Is that more or less legal and safe than an unlicensed driver? How about throwing eggs at a car?

If the alleged behavior is all true, the Lincoln driver is in serious trouble along with the teenager who was driving illegally.

This is the only part that matters.

If the kid had not stolen his parents' car and driven on the road illegally at the age of 14, all the other parts would never have happened.

The fault lies here, and here alone.

If the driver of the Lincoln would have gunned down the juveniles, the driver of the truck would be alive today

How are we so sure that the driver pulled out a gun? The kids that were committing a crime said so? That’s rich.

Doubt it

The fact of the matter is all of this stems from one act, the kids cranking the car in the first place.

From every article I've seen, The cops are talking more about the lincoln driver's failure to stop and render aid as that's something he can and could possibly be charged with and that has more evidence than the lincoln driver allegedly pulling out a gun.

This thread is one of the very few places on the internet that's even talking about the gun being brandished; the cops aren't even talking about charging that.

And if that’s true then he should face whatever consequences for that.

Hmmmm. Sounds like this is the guy who should be charged with murder.

The kids were doing stupid pranks, but nobody got hurt...
Then this guy brandished a gun at the kids and started chasing them.
At that point the kids were legitimately in fear for their lives and quite justified driving at high speeds to get away from the homicidal maniac chasing them!

Yes... the teenagers should go to prison. But we are also left with a guy chasing them (pistol or no pistol). Both are stupid here.

Dude, they were illegally driving a car without a license or even a learner's permit, did not have permission from the owner to use the car and threw solid projectiles onto other cars in flowing traffic.

And that's why they were charged with felony murder as it was during the commission of those crimes.

Those are facts that's 100% true and cannot be ignored to excuse the teenagers culpability and support their claim of a gun being brandished.

There's video showing that he didn't stop after the crash.

That's actual, clear evidence as opposed to the teenagers spoken claim of a gun being allegedly brandished.

I never once said they should be excused. Just that the driver is also at fault.

I was a teenager too with great parents and me, my siblings and my friends would've never dreamed of doing something so stupid and dangerous like this.
We did far worse things than pull stupid pranks like throwing eggs.
