That’s what got me the most. What other species could it be that are committing the crimes?

Her Say - Do gap is wider than most Nola pot holes.
Can say all the right things, but people who hear with their eyeballs know the Mayor prioritized international tourism while police exodus was in full swing and her citizenry were being drug to their deaths via rampant car jackings.
Sorry, Say - Do gap fail right there.
Please go try another profession, Mayor. Leave our precious city alone.
Time for new leadership with real care for this wonderful city

I wouldn'be suprised if she had something to do with that break in at Felipes. In there all the time and probably scaled it out. Burglars were looking for cash to repay flights

This dumbass should never let the word accountable come out of her mouth.

She started off talking about the shortage of NOPD officers without ever first identifying there was a shortage of NOPD officers.

Hope this soaring murder rate stops all the Californians and New Yorkers from moving here

i am sure those idiots on GMA are catering to her
You know, they didn’t let her off the hook. They asked her questions the held her accountable when she started going off about how much she was doing, even though every other city had gone through very similar but didn’t tank like NOLA did. She had ZERO substantive answers, and surprisingly, they did hold her feet to the fire for the most part.
The problem is, nobody really cares. Everyone knows she is not really in any danger of losing her position. She holds the magic racial amulet and no amount of truth is ever going to beat that.

New Orleans residents deserve her.

Ask and you shall receive. Its embarrassing.
quote:
...Latoya Cantrell. Mayor Cantrell thank you
for being with us and this survey also
compared New Orleans' homicide rate which
is up 40 to other major cities like
Atlanta which is 20 percent 11.5 percent
for Chicago.
Question:
What is your reaction to
these numbers and what are you doing to
try and bring those numbers down?
Teedy:
So thank you uh very very much for that
one very much focusing heavily on
retention as well as recruitment you
know the staffing numbers are staggering
as you know not only in New Orleans but
across the country which pushed me and
forced me to make every single roll call
within our Police District eight
districts uh both 7 A.M 7 P.M listening
to our officers it really pushed me even
further I would say to make sure that
our platoon officers that are on the
streets get the adequate support again
on the street I had to assign or
reassign every commissioned officer that
is a non-patrol back to the streets of
New Orleans getting that added support
if my officers are safe then the
citizens of New Orleans can be saved.
Pushing forward an even robust retention
package as well as a recruitment package
to get those numbers up as well there
very much focusing on technology
equipment, vehicles, looking at our public
Integrity Bureau where our officers were
seeing some as it relates to in
fractures kind of overreaching uh
policies there so doing everything that
we can in addition to that making sure
that programs are implemented and are
effective as it relates to juveniles as
well but we're seeing a spike in
domestic crimes and violence meaning uh
it's it's less a random but more people
who know people people hurting people in
our city that Spike absolutely since
Covid 19.
Question:
It sounds
like a lot of what you think is a
solution is to get more police on the
streets but there are of course, we know
historically so many more issues there
in New Orleans in New Orleans and
Louisiana have for decades led the
country almost year after year and when
it comes to murder rate but this still a
spike of 40% is a little alarming.
What Happened?
Teedy:
Absolutely so what happened quite
frankly is just we had uh zero uh jury
trials for over two years we had an
issue with our district attorney
um relaxing cases or are not even
accepting cases we had courts closed as
I mentioned but we also had the impact
of covid-19 domestic violence clearly on
a rise and and we're just seeing it even
spikes in juvenile crime as well but
addressing it head-on is what the City
of New Orleans.
Question:
Mayor I guess a lot of people would take
issue with that you mentioned the D.A
you mentioned judges you mentioned
courts you didn't mention the mayor and
some people are looking directly at you
and to the point that they want to even
recall you. Even in a recent poll
over 50 said yes they support a recall
and they have now collected uh I guess
at least 20-25 percent of the signatures needed
to do so, so where does the
responsibility fall with you because
some people are holding you responsible?
Teedy:
Absolutely and the responsibility is
mine and which one that I accept 100
police make the arrest but we want to
make sure that individuals are arrested
are held accountable and and off the
streets of the City of New Orleans and
you know just like me that does not fall
in the lap of the mayor but it does fall
in terms of being collaborative uh being
one that brings people together and
continues to focus on where the needs
are the greatest and putting resources
where they need to be placed most.
Question:
Obviously you know your city is a
tourism Mecca people come there for big
events for big festivals throughout the
year when you see the crime statistics
as they are what do you tell people who
may be concerned for their safety may be
reconsidering a different destination
for their plans because of what the
crime situation is there right now on
the ground what do you say to the people
who would like to visit your city but
might not feel safe going?
Teedy:
Well what I will say is that visitors
are returning to the City of New Orleans
in droves again hosted major national
events with no incidents at all what I
will say is that right now on the ground
in the City of New Orleans with a
redeployment strategy that's gaining
results every single day. That our city
is safer than it's been in a long time
and more importantly than that we're
seeing the results and we're seeing
visitors on the streets of New Orleans
today and every day since. I would say
since we've been opened back up leading
the nation in combating COVID 19.

Absolutely and the responsibility is mine and which one that I accept 100%....
...
...and you know just like me that does not fall in the lap of the mayor.

much respect to this interviewer.. he went hard after her.
Data isn't on her side and she is a nothingburger politically. There's no risk nailing her to the floor for GMA.
They wouldn't do the same thing with Bowser in DC or ATL mayor Bottoms when she was in office.

Not bc watching. No mention of white supremacy causing all this crime. That is the number one problem in America according to Dems. Or did she not get the talking point
