wait so we do want to model our governmental policies after Sweden or not?
Sweden has a few policies that are good.

-School choice vouchers
-Partially privatized social security
-Low corporate taxes
-Treats citizens like humans instead of cattle

I’m always amazed at the people that let Trump skate on the Corona response instead focusing on the shitshow governors. Trump enables the governors to do what they did.

Trump did the correct thing in telling the governors it was up to them.

Where he fricked up (and is still fricking up) is advocating all this stupid shutdown and mask wearing bullshite. Although considering word on the street is that he's a germophobe so not surprising.

This is not true, Sweden isn’t done. They will continue to outpace their neighboring countries in both cases and deaths.

But they also actually maintained social distance unlike the majority of Americans.

They are Scandinavian. What we call social distancing, they call a Tuesday.

Serious question.. Where is your information coming from ? Do you have any links ?

It’s .00057% I think.

What’s that come out to for a population of 330 million?

Sweden was much maligned but it looks like they were smart not to commit economic suicide.

I have found that getting information in one place on Sweden is hard to do. But if you Google Sweden Covid deaths by date, you will see that their daily deaths have been down in low single digits for a while. It is a country with more than 2x the population of Louisiana.

Was coming to post this, but spot on.

There’s no running from a virus.

Whenever I hear a stat like “Florida set a record with 20,000 new cases today.”

My first thought is “good”

As long as hospitals are not overrun, then we need as many positive cases as possible.

So do you have a link to this new data or should we just take your word for it?

Civil disobedience is the answer. Do not follow mandates. They are pointless and not based on science. They are harming us far more than helping us.

Their drop in cases has correlated almost exactly with their normal School and business summer shutdown from mid June to mud August.
